To everyone who made this possible—our team, our partners, and our students—thank you. Together, we’ve built something special, and we’re just getting started. As we look ahead to another exciting year of growth and impact, we invite you to read Zach Stanley’s reflection on Bioversity's first year and what’s to come in his guest blog on MassBio. Here’s to an even brighter year ahead!
Executive Director, Bioversity - Creating Career Pathways for Those Traditionally Left Out of the Life Sciences
One year ago, Bioversity's training space in Dorchester had no wi-fi, tables, chairs, or even a flammable permit so we could use our training lab. Less than a month later we had 18 students join our first class. From there, every day has been about the people who chose Bioversity, made a bet on themselves, and are now onto bigger and better things for them and their families on their new career journey in the life sciences. In my guest blog for MassBio today, I reflect on BioversityMA's first year and look ahead to what's next.

As 2024 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a year of growth and looking ahead to exciting opportunities for Bioversity in 2025. In March, we’ll welcome our first Lowell cohort, in partnership with University of Massachusetts Lowell and the Lowell Innovation Network Corridor (LINC). This cohort will take place in the M2D2 lab space, a state-of-the-art facility that fosters innovation and collaboration. This expansion allows us to extend our workforce development training program to even more underrepresented talent, strengthening pathways into the life sciences industry! Join us in congratulating Bioversity graduate, Dominique Tinsley, who recently joined Triumvirate Environmental as a Technical Services Associate. We wish you all the best in your new role! Zach Stanley Ross Marshall
Introducing Dominique Tinsley, one of Bioversity’s newest students! 🔬 Tell us about yourself – what were you doing before Bioversity, your family, where you're from, and why you chose Bioversity? Before Bioversity, I was a stay-at-home mom. I chose this program because it's close to my home, and the schedule fits with my life. I’m eager to see where Bioversity takes me! As we build a strong community within the program, tell us about a hobby or interest outside of work or education that brings you joy. How do you plan to balance your personal interests with the demands of the program? I enjoy reading, playing video games with my teenagers, and experimenting with hair styling and glamor makeup. To balance these hobbies with the program, I plan to set aside dedicated time for both! Life science employers: our fifth cohort graduates on October 31! We encourage you to consider welcoming these graduates on your team. Our program vets all students and then helps them develop cutting-edge skills from Bioversity to enrich your organization. While this cohort is still in progress, check out some of our recent graduates: https://lnkd.in/egMrzRcV Zach Stanley Ross Marshall
