What makes philanthropy essential to us? In my opinion, the need to eradicate societal problems and bring forth beneficial changes in people's lives. What do we envision at Mankind Pharma? Supporting the 'act of giving' through CSR associations, sustainable activities, and—above all—active community engagement. In my recent conversation with TheCSRUniverse, I got an opportunity to enlighten MANKIND PHARMA LTD’s philanthropic objectives and endeavours. As we remain dedicated to leaving a long-lasting legacy of compassion, we constantly navigate the evolving field of CSR. #interview #csr #society #philanthropy

It is always fun to bring an idea to full fruition.
Newman & Newman was extremely proud to host its inaugural Bridge 2024 event Wednesday at Levit Green - Houston, bringing together #nonprofit leaders and health #innovation entrepreneurs who share a passion for addressing #Cancer, #WomensHealth, and #MentalHealth. From our unique perspective of providing marketing communication strategies to both these communities, we believe there is value in connecting medtech and life science entrepreneurs with ally influencers and providers from the nonprofit sector. Sincere gratitude goes to our event partners, BioHouston, the Greater Houston Partnership Global Life Sciences, the Center for Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership at Rice University - Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies, Texas Medical Center Innovation and United Way of Greater Houston. Special thanks also goes to our speakers and break-out facilitators, Brad Burke, Susan (Susie) Distefano, Ashley A. Francis, Verena Kallhoff, Ph.D., MBA, Amanda McMillian, Margaret Oser, Kristen Schlatre, CFRE, and Darcie Champagne Wells, MBA.

Why are we so confident our Future Founders course is worth it? Here's just one example... Read how Northumbria University's Sterghios A. Moschos FRSC FIBMS MRSB spinout PulmoBioMed Ltd. has raised £1.4m investment to change lives with a non-invasive test that could detect asthma and other diseases earlier. Many of our Future Founders have gone on to launch their own spinout businesses with support from Northern Accelerator and IP & Commercialisation specialists at their university. If you're an academic at Durham University, Newcastle University, Northumbria University or University of York and you're thinking about commercialisation as a route to make an impact with your research, apply for the next cohort by 7 March. https://lnkd.in/ekwwe2sa

Genomes By Design new gene editing method could allow an “unprecedented level of control for manipulating genomes.” The existing CRISPR-Cas9 technique allows snippets of genetic code to be cut and replaced with precision. But it only allows small cuts and changes, and works by damaging the target. The new “bridge editing” system, which like CRISPR uses molecular machinery found in bacteria, allows huge sections of a genome to be altered: One researcher told New Scientist that it would allow scientists to “move beyond inserting individual genes to do chromosome-scale genome engineering.” It has not yet been shown to work in human cells, but even if it does not, will likely be modified so that it can.

🚀 As we announce a new wave of funding, across research projects in the healthspan space, our CEO Dr Mehmood Khan reflects on Hevolution’s purpose of catalysing the shift from lifespan to healthspan and the mountain we’re committed to climbing as the world's largest philanthropic funder of geroscience: 💡 “We’re spending a decade of life in poor health— this is a decade too many. Our current healthcare system focuses more on intervention, but our goal is to address the underlying causes of aging and age-related diseases. Geroscience and healthspan science are critically underfunded, which is why Hevolution is stepping up to bridge this gap.” ➡️ Learn more about the institutes we’re funding here https://lnkd.in/gNvjtwnY
