Happy Monday! A new week means new opportunities to make different choices, try new things, and strive to be better. 🚀 But let's be real—it can also feel overwhelming, especially when we see others who seem to be achieving so much more. As an overthinker, I often set incredibly high standards for myself, and even when I meet them, I still wonder if I could have done more. It's easy to fall into the trap of comparison—someone will always be earning more, getting promoted faster, or achieving things we haven't. The key is to remember: we’re all on our own unique path. ☘ In my case, the past six months have thrown curveballs left and right, and it’s been hard to stay grounded and recognize my own progress. But I’ve learned the importance of pausing to appreciate how far I’ve come—because a year ago, I was dreaming about where I am now. So, take a moment today to reflect on your own journey. Celebrate your progress, even in the chaos. ✨ P.S. Feeling like it’s time for a change? Check out our careers page for exciting opportunities at tru.ca/careers #TRUCareers #PostSecondaryJobs #Hiring

As my time at Avochoc came to an end this year I had the unique opportunity to evaluate myself professionally and personally through my very first industry job. After all, you only say goodbye to your first job once. What a remarkable journey it was…to watch myself grow probably the most I’ve ever grown in my life up until this point. A year and a half went so quickly but at the same time felt like it encompassed an entire lifetime. I thought quite hard about my lessons, some jumped out at me and some were a lot more “in hindsight”. 💡 I learned what and where my breaking points were. Consequently, I could then extend them further and further each time. 💡 I learned the true value of working with motivated individuals and how obvious it can be when you or someone else isn’t. 💡 I learned skills to navigate a male-dominated industry. 💡 I established a relationship with imposter syndrome but consequently learned to stand by my confidence despite this. 🥑 🍫 My first job gave a very inexperienced Computer Science graduate a chance to become experienced. For that I am grateful. Avocado Chocolate will forever be entwined in my journey. But now that this journey has ended, I have had a chance to rediscover my ambition and I absolutely cannot wait for the next venture in my career to begin! Watch this space.
