Our GameChangers celebrations continue as we near The National Lottery’s 30th Birthday, reflecting on the impact of their endeavours and how they’re inspiring future generations. Unveiled by national broadcasting legend Clare Balding, new artworks based on poems by the talented Robert Montgomery celebrate seven GameChangers who have each helped change the face of UK sport: - Paul Sinton-Hewitt - Alice Dearing OLY - Stephen Jones - Damian Kennedy - Steven Tigg - Baroness Sue Campbell - Dame Sarah Storey The artwork is being exhibited at four sports venues across the UK - London’s Wembley Stadium, the University of Stirling’s swimming pool, Principality Stadium in Cardiff, and Ulster Boxing High Performance Centre. Since the first draw in 1994, The National Lottery has raised over £49 billion for Good Causes and awarded over 690,000 individual grants to projects and organisations, making a huge difference to local communities. #NationalLottery30 #GoodCauses #GameChangers

Awareness of responsible gifting becomes even more important during the festive season, particularly among young adults. The National Lottery is no exception. This year, we’re proud to say that we’re now a Lottery Level 2 supporter of the National Council on Problem Gambling’s Gift Responsibly campaign for the first time. Amongst other activities, this includes our running targeted ads such as the one below, advising parents not to gift to under-18s. This time last month, we celebrated the work of Purple Tuesday in Piccadilly Circus with a landmark moment on their iconic big screen. Our Chief Strategy and Corporate Affairs Officer Alastair Ruxton highlighted how more than 20 per cent of the UK population have a disability, making it vital to take into account the needs of everyone we and the National Lottery engage with. As operator of The National Lottery, it is our ambition to put inclusivity at the heart of what we do, ensuring inclusivity for all stakeholders, including players, retailers, employees, and suppliers. We loved meeting fellow sponsors and Purple Tuesday Disabled Ambassadors at their event and look forward to continuing our work together in 2025. #ThinkAccessibility #SocialValue #Inclusivity

The OVO Arena, Wembley, buzzed with excitement last week as The National Lottery's Big Bash delivered an unforgettable end-of-year celebration, showcasing the UK's top musical, cultural, and sporting highlights. Amazing performances were given from the likes of Cirque du Soleil, Perrie, and Olly Alexander - and a surprise collaboration as the Loose Women joined the cast of Mamma Mia, marking a dual 25th anniversary with a burst of joy and nostalgia! Jason Isaacs, alongside the National Lottery-funded Taxi Charity for Military Veterans, also honoured the 80th anniversary of D-Day, welcoming veterans to the stage in a moving tribute. The Big Bash was more than just a party; it celebrated 30 years of life-changing impact, with more than £50 billion raised for Good Causes, benefiting over 700,000 projects across the UK, and 7,400 millionaires created. Don't miss the chance to enjoy this spectacular evening. Tune in to ITV1 and ITVX on 31st December from 17:45 to 19:45 for the full programme. #NationalLottery #BigBash #Celebration

We're pleased to announce Allwyn’s first-ever Local Retail Champions National Winners: Coldean Convenience in Brighton and Londis Solo Convenience Store in Glasgow. They've been awarded £5,000 cash and a Social Value store makeover worth up to £20,000 After a UK-wide campaign calling on the public to nominate National Lottery retailers who go above and beyond for their community, almost 1,000 National Lottery retailers were nominated to be Local Retail Champions. This was then whittled down to two National Winners, 16 Regional Winners - who each won £5,000 cash - and 102 runners-up who've won £100. The regional and national winners picked up their Local Retail Champions awards, made from recycled National Lottery Scratchcards, at a special awards event yesterday. This campaign, which has been made possible thanks to Allwyn's Social Value Fund, recognises National Lottery retailers who have made outstanding contributions to their local communities, and is part of our commitment to supporting high streets and communities across the UK. National Lottery retailers play a pivotal role in supporting communities across the UK by selling lottery tickets that contribute to the £30 million raised weekly for Good Causes.

This year as part of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Kimberley Neville, Senior DE&I Manager at Allwyn, was invited to attend and speak on a panel at the first Disabled Customer Summit hosted by Purple Tuesday. The summit's purpose was to discuss the disabled customer journey, to understand the challenges and barriers, and hear lived experiences. Kimberly shared that, "The outcome was a room full of rich, insightful, honest and thought-provoking conversations with some incredibly creative, innovative ideas and take-aways". We are looking forward to deepening our partnership with Purple Tuesday in 2025, and continuing our inclusion and accessibility journey. #Accessibility #InternationalDayOfPersonsWithDisabilities #Disability #Inclusion

Over three decades, The National Lottery has helped transform thousands of lives, including creating over 7,400 millionaires, with incredible stories to share. To mark The National Lottery’s 30th Birthday, we’ve spotlighted the stories of five inspirational winners: - Cornwall's Peter Congdon, who after his £13.5 million Lotto win offers local brides and prom teens chauffeur rides in his Bentley Continental, bringing joy to others on special occasions - Des Home, a Kent-based grandmother and cancer survivor who fulfilled a self-made promise by publishing her memoir 'And Then' after winning £1 million on EuroMillions. Her book chronicles an eventful life marked by serious health battles and personal triumphs, encapsulating her experiences from her naval service to raising a family - Former chefs Bill and Cath Mullarkey, who after winning £1 million on EuroMillions, relocated to St Lucia to build a three-storey home and establish Brigands Hideaway, a restaurant celebrated for its local Caribbean cuisine - Leicestershire grandmother Terri Picton-Clark, a former ballroom champion, who realised her dream of dancing at Blackpool Tower Ballroom, despite her health challenges, after winning £1 million on Lotto - David Lawrence, a long-time supporter of disability causes, who realised his dream by building a crazy golf course in his own garden for local community groups after his £1 million Lotto win, with the aim of inspiring people with disabilities to play golf. The National Lottery creates on average a millionaire every day of the week – and thanks to players across the UK, more than £30 million is raised for Good Causes on a weekly basis. #NationalLottery30

Today is an incredible milestone for The National Lottery as it celebrates its 30th Birthday, and a whopping £50 billion raised for Good Causes since 1994. Players generate over £30 million every week for Good Causes, supporting over 700,000 projects - big and small! – spanning community, sport, heritage, and arts initiatives across the UK. Every single time players purchase a ticket, they help change the game by making a positive impact on people’s lives. In fact, no single brand, organisation, or institution has had more impact on UK culture and communities over the past 30 years. As operator, we're proud to facilitate these initiatives and are excited to see them grow further, as we look forward to the next 30 years of The National Lottery. #NationalLottery30 #GoodCauses
