This week, The Lettings Industry Council (TLIC) published a Briefing outlining the steps needed to address what has become the worst housing crisis in England since the Second World War. The Briefing has been co-written by Kate Faulkner OBE, Jacky Peacock (Advice for Renters) and myself. We believe it is the first of its kind to combine the views of those working as landlords, agents and those representing tenants.   The Briefing calls for an overarching policy that addresses all tenures; highlighting the key changes needed and how to develop short, medium and long-term plans.   The previous siloed approach hasn’t worked. A very positive and powerful debate last week on how new approaches can help tackle both climate and housing crisis. Thank you to the panellists Emma Osmundsen from Ealing Council (London Borough of Ealing) , Dr Tom Dollard from Pollard Thomas Edwards and Richard Pender for sharing their thoughts, Tom Westwood from The Green Register for moderating the debate and Penny Randell from Ecological Building Systems for sponsoring the event.
