1,031 steps? Completed it ✅ A huge congratulations to everyone who completed the Santa Stair Climb with our charity partner The Felix Project 👏 On Sunday 8th December we welcomed our customers, residents and stair climb enthusiasts to One Canada Square, where they climbed an incredible 1,031 steps in aid of feeding Londoners this Christmas. Like Felix, we believe in creating long-lasting social impact while prioritising sustainability. As a responsible business with access to a high concentration of retailers and businesses in our neighbourhood, we believe we should use our position to create a community that supports The Felix Project’s work and make a long-term difference to those who need it locally. Thanks to everyone who climbed or donated, we've raised over £56,000 (and counting!) which will equate to thousands of meals for the people that need them the most this month. 💚 Find out more about how to get involved with The Felix Project's outstanding work here - https://lnkd.in/dPiK-NF #CanaryWharf #TheFelixProject #ESG

♻️ Transitioning to a circular economy will be a critical to achieving net zero and delivering a low carbon future. One industry leading example of materials circularity in practice has seen Canary Wharf Group and Aggregate Industries UK, Holcim working together on an innovative project at Wood Wharf. Recycled concrete from a nearby 100-year old decommissioned quay has been broken down into its constituent parts and reused in the concrete being poured for new residential buildings. Hear from Canary Wharf Group’s Director of ESG Sophie Goddard and Director of Structures Jonathan Ly in our latest video as they explain the circularity benefits of using concrete in the construction of new buildings to create more sustainable, resilient cities. #CanaryWharf #circulareconomy #sustainability #concrete

🌻 Canary Wharf wins Gold at prestigious Britain in Bloom 2024 🥇 As Winter settles in and our flower beds rest ahead of their Spring awakening, it's the perfect time to celebrate a year of success for our Landscaping and ESG teams 👏 Back in October we were awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Britain in Bloom Gold Award for the Town Centres & City Centres category, an incredible achievement for the entire team who work around the clock to make Canary Wharf an extraordinary environment for everyone to enjoy. Judges assessed Canary Wharf according to criteria that evaluates our commitment to improving the local environment, community engagement and horticultural excellence. We showcased our vibrant floral displays, community engagement initiatives, and sustainability projects and ambition. This includes work from our community groups including Radojunkie with a Muay Thai demo at CRP Gardens and Trapped in Zone One took a Sketch and Flo Group to Cabot Square. We are incredibly proud of this achievement and grateful for the support of our community. Together, we have made a positive impact on our environment, creating beautiful, sustainable green spaces for everyone to enjoy 🌿 #CanaryWharf #Landscaping #RHS #ESG

Over the past 12 months, Canary Wharf Group have completed over £2 billion of financings, a testament to the strength of the proposition and our performance at Canary Wharf. This news comes as we complete a £610 million loan with Apollo Global Management, Inc., secured in tranches against the majority of CWG's 1.2 million sq ft retail portfolio, which is currently 97% occupied. We continue to attract new businesses to the Wharf including health, life sciences, education, VC start-ups and scale-up customers. Several customers have recommitted to the Wharf including Barclays, Morgan Stanley, Citi and J.P. Morgan, and earlier this year, Revolut chose Canary Wharf as its global headquarters. Canary Wharf is a thriving mixed-use neighbourhood with more than 3,500 people now living here, which is set to double over the next two years. Our retail, leisure and hospitality offer continues to grow with an ecosystem that includes childcare and schooling, universities, hotels, gyms and health centres. Congratulations to the whole team for this hugely significant achievement. 🏗️How we're bringing "building circular" to life ♻️ We're very proud to announce our partnership with Aggregate Industries UK and Holcim as the first UK developer to use neustark, a cutting-edge technology which will significantly reduce carbon emissions in our construction projects. neustark's technology takes demolished concrete, like that found on our Kadans Science Partner joint venture site One North Quay, and puts it through a process that permanently locks carbon dioxide into it, removing it from the atmosphere. This recycled concrete can then be used on other projects, eliminating the need to use more virgin materials. So far neustark has permanently removed more than 2,500 tonnes of carbon since it launched commercially in 2023, with an aim of removing one million tonnes by 2030 and we're incredibly excited to be part of that mission. By embedding circularity into the provision of our buildings and physical infrastructure, we are on our way to fulfilling our vision of becoming a fully circular neighbourhood. We'll have more updates on how we're achieving this through concrete circularity innovations in 2025 📅 #CanaryWharf #Decarbonisation #ESG #SustainableConstruction

🔴💡Last night, Sunday 1st December, One Canada Square was lit in red to mark World AIDS Day 2024. Working alongside East London based HIV and sexual health charity Positive East, we transformed One Canada Square into a symbol of HIV awareness. The halo, nearly 240 meters above the capital, glowed red, a colour ubiquitous to the HIV movement that signifies remembrance, reflection, hope and courage. Leading figures across health, government and business, including Secretary for Health and Social Care, MP for Ilford North The Rt. Hon. Wes Streeting MP, gathered for a candle lit vigil, to watch One Canada Square's halo turn red, commemorating lost lives and give space for reflection. CWG Chief People Officer Jane Hollinshead, remarked - "Our partnership with Positive East for World AIDS Day exemplifies how we can leverage our iconic spaces to raise awareness for critical health issues. By illuminating One Canada Square red, we're not only commemorating those affected by HIV/AIDS, but also highlighting the incredible progress made in treatment and prevention. My thanks to our incredible CWG Unity Network for their efforts to highlight the amazing work done by Positive East."
