Sales problem? What do you know about the buyer? And how much of this is an assumption? Or a guess? You know you can help them and that’s a good place to start, but it won’t be the thing that leads to a close. When you ask for the order, you’re asking a buyer to become your customer. To trust you. To them it may feel like a risk. This is why any guess you’ve made about their needs and concerns is a red flag. 🚩 And a risk to your sale. Did I just hit an all-time high or all-time low by quoting myself? Never mind, don't answer. But I needed to get this message out: Dear Executives, Please stop showcasing company goals only in January, or worse yet, only at SKO. Please... 1️⃣ If you want employees to understand the business, highlight the goals with regular visibility. No more "one and done." 🥈 If you want employees to feel connected to your mission and vision, help them understand the goals. Explain the "why" behind the goals. 🕒 If you want employees to feel motivated to get work done, show them how their efforts are directly tied to the goals. Show, don't tell. And yes, I am taking my own advice - I focus on the customer experience and my customers live inside and outside the organization - that includes my colleagues.
