🇺🇸 Forney Career Expo 2024: A Day of Opportunity and Remembrance On September 11, 2024, the Forney Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Forney Economic Development Corporation, hosted the much-anticipated Annual Career Expo at the OC Arena fostering opportunities for job seekers and employers alike, creating connections and professional growth within the community. 🇺🇸 Honoring the Significance of 9/11 The date of the Career Expo holds profound significance as it coincides with the anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. We were in attendance to distribute our Buddy Poppies and American Flags in remembrance of the tragedies on 9/11, and to connect with the businesses on opportunities for our veterans and their families, network with community resources, and support our community. 🇺🇸 A Hub of Innovation: Opportunity Central The Career Expo was hosted at the Keith Bell Opportunity Central (The OC) Arena, a state-of-the-art facility designed to be a hub of innovation and growth for Forney. Opportunity Central, often referred to as "Innovation Station," is a dynamic space dedicated to fostering educational and professional development. It offers a range of resources, including: Workshops and Training Programs: Tailored to equip individuals with the skills needed to thrive in today's job market. Networking Events: Providing platforms for professionals to connect, share ideas, and collaborate on projects. Business Incubation: Supporting startups and small businesses with the resources and mentorship needed to grow and succeed. The Career Expo leveraged these resources, offering attendees a comprehensive experience that went beyond traditional job fairs.
