💥 Attending the Seminole Futures(Career Fair) at Florida State University today was a game-changer! I walked in hoping to make connections – but I left with way more than I expected. Here’s what I learned in just a few hours: 1. Conversations > Resumes Handing out resumes is one thing, but having honest conversations? That’s where the magic happens. People remember the stories you share, not just the papers you hand over. 2. Confidence isn’t a skill – it’s a mindset Walking up to recruiters isn’t easy. But the more I did it, the more I realized that confidence is built through action. Every conversation became more accessible, and I learned to believe in what I bring. 3. Every career path is unique I heard stories of professionals who changed directions, took chances, and made mistakes. These stories were powerful reminders that success isn’t about a “perfect path.” It’s about owning your journey and learning as you go. I’m grateful for the connections I made and the insights I gained today. 🚀 To everyone I met: Thank you for your time, advice, and encouragement. Let’s stay in touch if we connect—I’d love to keep learning from each of you! ⚡ For any fellow students attending career fairs this season, here’s my tip: Be bold, ask questions, and remember that you’re there to learn as much as you are to impress. #CareerFair #Networking #GrowthMindset #StudentJourney #FutureReady What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received? Drop it below – I’d love to hear! 👇

Attention all students! 🎓 Are you feeling overwhelmed with exams, assignments, and deadlines? Don't worry, you're not alone! As a fellow student, I understand the struggles of juggling a busy academic life. But let's not forget to make the most out of our student years! 💪 From networking events, career fairs, to joining clubs and organizations, there are endless opportunities to grow both personally and professionally during our student life. 🌟 So why not take advantage of them? Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. Trust me, it will help you develop valuable skills and broaden your horizons. 🌎 But let's not forget to also take care of ourselves. It's important to find a balance between academics and self-care. Whether it's taking a break to catch up with friends, joining a sports team, or simply taking a walk, make sure to prioritize your mental and physical well-being. 🧘♀️ Lastly, remember that your student years are a journey, not a destination. So enjoy the process, embrace the challenges, and always strive for growth. 🌱 #studentlife #personalgrowth #growthmindset

I lured them over with my giant lollyPROPS. 🍭 Let them spin the wheel and land on a career cluster. 🎡 Guess how many candies were in a jar (tricked them with a half empty jar) 😉 And had a super fun beach prize they could win. 🏆 I worked for weeks getting my career clusters printed out and organized so they could see careers and pathways and maybe themselves in one of them. The day cost me money- the props, the wheel, the jar, the prize, the time off of work- but the experience of being able to sprinkle career inspiration to high school students- priceless. PIVOT I often hear candidates saying they want to do “more” but there aren’t opportunities. I always respond with “ go find more on your own”. These career fairs are a great way to gain exposure to future Talent, meet other companies you can collaborate with and if you are creating this for the company you work for, then you own something. You just elevated yourself to being the contact for something high profile, possibly newsworthy, and for sure, helping our future generations learn where they can earn. The best way to make a move to be seen, is to make a move to make a difference. ✌️⭐️ #careerfair #careeradvancement #careergrowth

Today, I had the pleasure of attending the University of Texas at Dallas Career Fair! It was an incredible opportunity to network with some leading companies and explore potential career paths. I would like to give a special thank you to UNIQLO and Gartner for taking the time to chat with me. At Gartner, I learned about their exciting digital marketing opportunities that gave me a new profound interest in sales. My conversation with Uniqlo was extremely inspiring as I heard about their strong focus on fostering an entrepreneurial spirit and promoting growth for individuals eager to learn and advance within the company, as an entreprenuer and someone who wants to learn and grow as much as possible that conversation really resonated with me. 💼For future students attending the career fair, here are some tips that I think would help ensure a successful career fair! -Prepare your resume:Make sure your resume is printed out well in advance to avoid any last minute issues. -Research companies: Take the time to learn about the companies you're interested in so you can engage in more meaningful and free flowing conversations. -Bring a notepad and pen: Having something to write down notes during conversations, as this can help you remember key points and follow up more effectively. -Be proactive and follow up:Make sure to connect with recruiters afterward to build lasting relationships. Thank you again to the JSOM team and all the participating companies for making this event such a valuable experience! #JSOMCareerFair #DigitalMarketing #Entrepreneurship #CareerGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment #UTD

Going to a big event like a career fair somehow can be quite overwhelming to me. The idea of talking to new people and making conversation triggers the introvert part of me. Here are some of the things I did to get myself together and make sure I made the most of it from going to this event. 1️⃣ Have a cup of coffee before going. Coffee helps push me to go beyond my comfort zone. It gives me the confidence to initiate conversation and allows for a smooth transition into my extroverted self. 2️⃣ List down the top 3 companies to go to. This allows me to focus my energy on having meaningful conversations while building rapport and creating impressions with the top 3 company representatives. Quality over quantity! 3️⃣ Be prepared with questions I usually write down some familiar questions to start the conversation in my head. Depending on the recruiters, some require me to ask questions first while some would just approach and share without me asking questions. Usually, more questions come out naturally during the conversation. So that’s a summary of what I did before going to a career fair today. It was fun meeting the company representatives and connecting with some of them here on LinkedIn. I am right now looking for a traineeship or internship position for the summer. The best is yet to come! #intern #trainee #budapest #management

How happy 😃 are you to be here and work for them? 🤔 This was a question 🙋♂️ asked to me at one of the career fairs. My simple answer was: "I wouldn’t be here if I didn't enjoy what I do." 🤩 I'm not sure if a dream job exists, but it's rather a dream scenario where you have a good set of people around you, a company that provides a platform to succeed, and you enjoy what you do. 💼✨ Irrespective of where you work, you are going to have tough times. The regular ups and downs, office politics — but that doesn’t mean you are not happy with what you do. It is just that changes could constantly be happening. 🔄 It is up to you and how much you can cut the noise around you. But the day you feel like not turning up for work and lack motivation, that’s when you need to do some soul-searching. 🧘♂️ #mondaymotivation #motivation #careers

LinkedIn Friends, Recently I had the opportunity to attend a career fair at a local university and be around a number of students who were looking for co-op and intern positions. I admit, it has been years since I had been at this type of event or in this type of setting. I wanted to share a few observations: - First observation … I am beyond inspired by the generation that is entering our workforce. The buzz in the room was fun and I could just feel their excitement for the various opportunities in front of them. Youthful exuberance is infectious … and could inject some energy into your team. - Second observation … We, as leaders, are going to need to ‘up our game’ as this generation enters the workforce and our teams. They ask really, really, really good questions and are going to push us (me) to have thoughtful explanations and reasoning behind norms, policies, ways of working … no longer can we just answer with our normal ‘because that is how we do it’. - Third observation … They want so much more than a job. They want a positive culture; they want a place where they can grow; they want to work on things that make a difference; they want us to explain to them where we stand on corporate social responsibility … and they want it all on day 1! They are also pretty clear that if they don’t find all of these things then they will be back on the market for a new role at a new organization. In other words, it is truly a two way interview where we are vetting them AND they are vetting us for fit. - Fourth (and final) observation … I need to go to more career fairs 🙂 … and I bet you do as well! Unless you are an intern manager or recruiter then I doubt your daily interactions overlap with the next generation that will be entering our workforce. My biggest take-away from my time on campus is that I need to find ways to interact with the individuals that will be candidates for our open roles over the next few years. It will allow me to really think about my approach to my first 3 observations and hopefully, help me be a better leader, teammate and co-worker when they are working alongside me soon. Be kind to yourself and take care of those around you, Eric
