This morning, I received an insightful email from Temi Ajibewa on how to build a brand when you're multi-passionate. Her mail got me reflecting on a question one of the interns at GLASS AND CRAFT PR asked last week: … GLASS AND CRAFT PR is my Personal Branding Outfit where we offer Authentic Personal Branding and PR Services to Individuals seeking Clarity, Visibility, and Profit. … His exact questions were, ‘How am I sure I am in alignment with God's exact will when building my Personal Brand around a particular skill or passion?' ‘How do I know what exactly to focus on since I may likely evolve into a different area of Interest with time' I could sense the confusion in his voice. Sharing my respnse to him here in the case someone reading this and having the same question at heart. Firstly, each season of your life requires the most predominant version of you to show up. Start with what you have and who you at the moment. If this season of your life comes with you as a Stay-at-home, embrace that identity and build your brand around being a Stay-at-home Mum. There are thousands, even millions, of stay-at-home mums waiting to hear your story, learn from your experiences, and be inspired by your journey. If this season finds you as an intern, show up authentically as the intern on a journey to becoming more. You don't have to have it all figured out. What matters is being present and genuine in your current season. This is why I constantly preach AUTHENTICITY. Building a personal brand on “faking it till you make it” will only lead to burnout and confusion. It's hard to sustain a brand that isn’t grounded in who you truly are. Hold on to Lessons learned in each Season while you connect the dots to your Next Season. For Example, Mr. Joseph Jacob- Isreal during his Season in the Prison did not cower in silence while waiting for the big picture. He did not even have the Big Picture like most of us. He only had dreams of being a Star. and that was all. But while in the Prison, he showcased his Brand Message and USP. Dreaming and Interpreting of Dreams. Because of his Showing up, he transitioned into a better Season where his Brand Message evolved into -helping Egypt survive and thrive during a famine. Helping Egypt survive and thrive in Famine. His willingness to showcase his unique gifts at every stage eventually aligned him with his greater purpose. So here’s my call to action: If you're feeling uncertain , I encourage you to embrace this season of your life, no matter how small or temporary it may seem. Your brand is not about having all the answers, but about being authentic in the process. Show up fully, hold on to the lessons of each phase, and trust that every step is preparing you for the next.

Today, I gained a profound understanding of the term "organizational psychology." This morning, I was on a Teams call with an NGO engaged in humanitarian work in Africa. As the new Head of Business Development at Blueprints, this was my first feedback and reports meeting. In these meetings, we provide organizations with progress updates as they navigate through their enablers (factors propelling them forward) and disablers (factors holding them back) towards their future strategy. The session was more intense than I had anticipated. Guy highlighted areas needing improvement, which seemed to overwhelm and unsettle them. It felt like a corporate group therapy session, with data-backed observations presented visually, reflecting the employees' progress. It takes courage to confront these truths, but doing so is essential for growth. Denial is a natural human tendency, yet those who face their truths, both individually and organizationally, are the ones who grow. This is evident from Blueprints' success stories with clients. Courage has been crucial in my personal and professional journey. I can only imagine the impact it has on organizations with thousands of employees, all aligned with the same strategy and reflecting on their growth as a collective journey. As time progresses, I look forward to seeing this NGO succeed and wish them all the best on their journey to success.

I had the privilege of engaging some African founders and start-up leaders in a masterclass incubatory mentorship session over the weekend, and it was nothing short of amazing as you would guess. Two value-packed hours, going over the People dynamics of scaling a start-up from pre-seed level to growth, bearing in mind that more than 18% of start-up fails are people related, second to 34% as market viability and acceptance. We spoke at length on how pertinent it is to be an original leader, who builds a team of vision ambassadors as founding members and curate a distinct culture of the organization archetype from the get-go, cause your founding team’s work-culture will eventually be the mold for your organization’s culture even at growth. I wish I could write here all we shared in that masterclass, but that would take an entire paperback “bestselling” book for later. However, some points I hope to tell my darling Start-up Founders, SMEs and Entrepreneurs out there are: • Be the First Employee Engagement Officer for your business. • Remove the Silos/ Walls • Say “no” to the family trap (Fuji house of commotion / the US Navy Seal), but embrace a unified efficient team ideology. • Build Leaders off your founding team and set the culture right from the get-go. • Sell the dream to your team first, they will sell it to your customers. • Be the first employee, not an employer. I must applaud the great investment Africa Fintech Foundry deliberately have initiated towards success of many Africa’s Start-ups, this directly aligns with what we do and envisage at NextGen Africa and as you know how happy I am to speak, mentor, consult and coach the next generation of Africa’s entrepreneurs, professionals, innovators and leaders. Startup! #femiokikiola There is no gainsaying that we enjoy remarkable relationships with individuals, brands and organisations from across the world which is evident in the profile views, daily requests for stronger network relationships and even the messages we daily receive as mails from organisations that we are getting to meet for the first time. This is one privilege we are so grateful for and which some of our mentors and predecessors who have pioneered this space might not have had; a direct encounter with such a large global community. Our community is able to closely follow our daily experiences, support our journey, monitor and appreciate our growth. Our daily challenges resonates with what they also experience in the process of our evolution. They know how we stand strong on the issue of integrity, loyalty and devotion to our course. They can attest to our work culture and know how much we value standards by upholding transparency and empathy for all. You as a global community are able to today directly meet and personally relate with the people behind this personal brand even before the completion and launch of our product. The implication of which is that we might not have to struggle so much to gain attention for a vision which we now share together even as we will also be privileged to grow organically with our teams and our future community. There is a whole new world of business opportunities to explore through existing relationships that might impact the trajectories of brands and organizations.
