It has been an enriching experience so far in my summer internship. Warehouse logistics is a challenging front , specially when you operate in Just in time model. Continuous replenishment and dispatch complicates warehouse management. It's been an experience filled with new learnings as I got to work on the most challenging dimensions of warehouse logistics - Space optimization, Efficient layouting and maintaining FIFO. ✨Below are my key learnings so far 👇 🏭Space optimization and efficient layouting: 🚀KPIs: % storage utilisation, % operational aisle utilisation, order cycle time, average forklift distance movement, pickup and drop times, average accessibility factor, space fit efficiency. 🚀 In a scenario where warehouse faces space crunch, production rate fluctuates a lot and dispatch rate is not predictable, we need to develop dynamic layout according to current trends. 🚀 Redundancies and space inefficiencies should be eradicated ASAP. 🚀 Layout should follow the current demand pull trend, SKUs with higher demand pull should be nearer to dispatch. It reduces average forklift distance coverage. 🚀 Accessibility is inversely proportional to utilisation and therefore an optimised tradeoff is required. 🏭FIFO: KPIs: FIFO picking accuracy, FIFO flow break, FIFO maintain probability factor. 🚀 Maintaining FIFO in an environment with high dispatch rate, container design constraints, no defined coordinates for storage becomes a major challenge and it requires lot of team effort. 🚀 Real time tracking is the key. Stock levels tracking, dispatch flow tracking, accurate labelling, visibility and effective communication are required to facilitate dispatch of SKUs in perfect FIFO manner 🚀 A layout with high accessibility which can be achieved by allocating highest possible bays to one SKU, can be very effective in maintaining FIFO. 👇Below is a glimpse of my project outcomes so far. It includes revised capacity allocation, metrics to track FIFO and Layout modification. P.S: To uphold company's Data privacy and confidentiality policy, Data presented below is not authentic and is a dummy presentation. #WarehouseOptimization #SupplyChain #Logistics #KPIs #FIFO #DataAnalytics #MBAInternship

🌟 Excited to share my recent experience from my internship at OESON, where I explored data analysis using advanced Excel techniques! 🌟 During this internship, I worked on a comprehensive project analyzing an e-commerce database. My tasks included formatting data, creating insightful tables, performing statistical analyses, and developing a detailed sales dashboard. Key Insights & Conclusions: Regional Focus: Strategies need improvement for the least profitable regions, such as Canada, the Caribbean, and Central Asia. Seasonal Strategies: Implement discounts or combined offers during less profitable months (February, September, and November) to boost sales. Dominant Category: Fashion is the top-performing product category, contributing significantly to both sales and profits. Product Intervention: Adjust pricing or reduce costs for the least profitable products, including keyboards, watches, and mixers/juicers. This project has been an incredible learning experience, allowing me to apply and enhance my data analysis skills with Excel. I’m grateful for the mentorship and support from Aritri Debnath (Ghosh) at OESON and Tanishq Chohan (Founder & CEO | OESON). Eager to apply these insights to real-world scenarios and continue my journey in data analytics! #OESON #OGTIP #DataAnalytics #Excel

Completed the Task 2 project assigned to me by @cognorise. The Customer Personality Analysis provides more insights into the different segments of customers and the products they buy most from the company. The Customer Personality Analysis provides in-depth insights into the different types of customers and the products they buy most from the company. The Key Insights: • The Company has a total number of 2,240 customers buying different goods they are selling such as wines, fish, fruits, meat, sweets and gold. • The Company generate more revenue from wines than other goods. They generated 681,000 from wine alone, followed by gold which is 374,000. They generate less revenue from fruits. • Out of 2,240 customers, 864 are married, 580 are cohabitating and 480 are single. 1,127 are college graduates. • Married people top the chart of customers who purchase goods from the company website, they made 3,532 buying from the web, followed by Together which is 2,367. • A lot of customers enrolled into the company in the month of August with 222 customers buying goods from the company, the month of July records less enrolment with 101. • More than half of the company's customers have neither kids nor teens at home. Recommendation: The Company should focus their next marketing campaign on the married, together and single as most of the customers who buy the company's products are from that segment. Moreover, they can stock the store very well as most customers prefer buying from the store to the catalogue and website. They should also stock wines, fish and gold because more revenue was generated from those products. https://lnkd.in/e-yPdcac https://lnkd.in/eNH-r-bK #cognorise #internship #DataAnalysis #PowerBI #CareerGrowth

My Internship Journey at Reliance Retail : A Learning Experience Beyond the Obvious During my recent internship in Retailship Management at Reliance Smart Bazar, I had the privilege of delving deeper into the intricate and often unseen elements of retail operations. While many talk about the essentials like inventory management and customer service, I discovered that the real engine behind a successful retail operation is something more nuanced: the balance between human intuition and technology. One of the most unique aspects I uncovered was the role of micro-data patterns in decision-making. While we often hear about big data, I noticed that subtle, almost invisible trends—like slight shifts in customer footfall during different times of the day—have a massive impact on how retail adjusts its strategies. This taught me the importance of attentiveness to details that most might overlook, yet these details drive operational efficiency and customer satisfaction in ways that are not often discussed. Another key takeaway that many don't talk about is the emotional intelligence required in managing customer expectations. Beyond mere communication skills, I learned how to read non-verbal cues, identify underlying needs, and adjust the approach to offer personalized services that create lasting relationships. This human touch, which goes beyond basic salesmanship, is a vital element in creating loyalty and driving repeat business. The role of agility in logistics was another overlooked yet critical area I explored. Most discussions around retail focus on visible aspects like display or customer service, but I found that being able to adapt quickly to supply chain disruptions or unexpected inventory demands required not just good systems, but also a proactive mindset. In the fast-paced world of retail, learning to anticipate challenges before they escalate is a skill that I honed significantly, one that most newcomers may not focus on immediately. Lastly, while many might highlight teamwork in retail, my experience revealed the importance of inter-departmental synergy. I witnessed firsthand how seamless collaboration between merchandising, sales, and back-end operations is pivotal to maintaining the store's growth. Each department may have its individual goals, but aligning them towards a common objective is what ensures overall success. This cross-functional perspective gave me a much broader understanding of retail dynamics. In essence, my internship not only deepened my knowledge of retail management but also sharpened my ability to notice these often-unspoken drivers of growth—details that most might miss, but which are critical to a thriving retail ecosystem. These insights, I believe, will give me a distinct edge in the industry.
