Founders and Fund(hers) Pitch Day was a success! ✨ The day was filled with innovation, inspiration, and connection!⁠ We watched visionary founders pitch their groundbreaking ideas to a panel of local investors, serial entrepreneurs, and business leaders.⁠ Congratulations to our top three finalists: Wendy Ekua (W.E.) Da’Cruz, founder of The Mushroom Angel Company received $10,000. Shonna Amos, CPC, PCC founder of EWP Coaching and Consulting received $5,000. Lisa Session founder of Da Bomb Taco received $2,500. Special shoutout to our other pitchers Lia Massey of Lia Gabrielle Atelier, Christen Greenwood of The Village PTW, and our judges, Nancy Tellem, Marlin Williams, Lindsey Kilbride, Kelly LaPierre, and Ping Ho. BasBlue had the honor of participating in Midtown Detroit, Inc. 50th annual Noel Night this year, and it was a success! Nearly 300 visitors joined us in our home. Our specially curated holiday shopping experience merged top luxury brands from the Somerset Collection with Metro Detroit’s top small businesses and retailers. Together they offered everything from the latest toy crazes to unique jewelry, and beauty products to home goods and wellness essentials. Guests found one-of-a-kind gifts while supporting local entrepreneurs and creatives. The festive event filled BasBlue with holiday cheer, community spirit, and the support of local businesses during this beloved Detroit tradition. The vendors were able to collaborate and connect on a new level. Thank you to everyone who made this night so memorable—we can’t wait to welcome you back next year! The holiday season is here, a time of joy, family, and giving. We’re thrilled to partner with Motions on a special mission to make this holiday season brighter for 100 families across Southeast Michigan. BasBlue is taking care of 50 families while Motions takes care of the other half. Together, we have the power to ensure that these families can enjoy a memorable Thanksgiving with loved ones around a full table. There are several ways you can help make this vision a reality: Donate Food: From November 18th to 22nd, bring your food donations to the BasBlue Main House front desk. Every contribution, big or small, helps create a beautiful, hearty meal for a family that needs it. You can even Instacart meals to the house! Pack Boxes: On November 26th, we’ll gather to pack the donated food into boxes filled with care and kindness. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow members and share the spirit of giving as we prepare these meals. Distribute Meals: Be a part of the delivery team on November 27th as we personally hand out these meal boxes to families. The joy and gratitude you’ll see on their faces is a reminder of how impactful a simple gesture can be. This project is more than just giving food; it’s about showing compassion and spreading hope. It’s a chance for us to come together, lift each other up, and remind those in need that they are not alone.
