The holiday season is here, a time of joy, family, and giving. We’re thrilled to partner with Motions on a special mission to make this holiday season brighter for 100 families across Southeast Michigan. BasBlue is taking care of 50 families while Motions takes care of the other half. Together, we have the power to ensure that these families can enjoy a memorable Thanksgiving with loved ones around a full table. There are several ways you can help make this vision a reality: Donate Food: From November 18th to 22nd, bring your food donations to the BasBlue Main House front desk. Every contribution, big or small, helps create a beautiful, hearty meal for a family that needs it. You can even Instacart meals to the house! Pack Boxes: On November 26th, we’ll gather to pack the donated food into boxes filled with care and kindness. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow members and share the spirit of giving as we prepare these meals. Distribute Meals: Be a part of the delivery team on November 27th as we personally hand out these meal boxes to families. The joy and gratitude you’ll see on their faces is a reminder of how impactful a simple gesture can be. This project is more than just giving food; it’s about showing compassion and spreading hope. It’s a chance for us to come together, lift each other up, and remind those in need that they are not alone. We’d love for you to join us in bringing joy to others and experiencing the true meaning of the holiday season! Annual Sock Drive Announcement As the holiday season approaches, it is a time for joy, giving, and reflection. Christmas is a season of warmth and generosity, and it is also a time to remember those in need within our community. I am pleased to announce the continuation of our Annual Sock Drive, an initiative dedicated to providing warmth and comfort to those who need it most. Last year, our focus was on children, and thanks to the incredible support from our community, we were able to make a significant impact. This year, we are expanding our reach to support individuals of all ages. Our goal is to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, has access to the basic necessity of warm socks during the cold winter months. Why Socks? Socks are one of the most requested items at shelters and are often overlooked in donation drives. They provide essential warmth and comfort, helping to prevent health issues related to cold feet and poor circulation. By donating socks, you are making a direct and meaningful contribution to someone’s well-being. How You Can Help: Donate New Socks: We are accepting donations of new socks for all ages, from infants to seniors. Every pair counts and will be greatly appreciated. Spread the Word: Help us reach more people by sharing our sock drive with your friends, family, and colleagues. Social media posts, emails, and word-of-mouth can make a huge difference. Volunteer: If you have time to spare, consider volunteering to help sort and distribute the socks. Your time and effort are invaluable to our cause. Donation Drop-off Locations: We have partnered with several local businesses and community centers to serve as drop-off locations for sock donations. A full list of these locations can be found on our website Contact Information: For more information about the sock drive, how to get involved, or to become a drop-off location, please contact us Together, we can make this holiday season a little warmer for everyone in our community. Thank you for your generosity and support.

Imagine a vending machine that doesn't just dispense snacks, but hope and kindness. A machine where you can buy more than just a quick bite, but a chance to make a real difference in someone's life. This holiday season, the Oklahoma Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is bringing a unique and inspiring initiative to Scissortail Park. From December 18 to January 3, three "Light the World Giving Machines" will be on display, offering a chance for park visitors to make an instant act of service and bring hope to those in need. Twenty-five of the 30 cards in each machine will represent essential items needed by local nonprofits, including: * Infant Crisis Services, providing food, formula, and diapers to babies and toddlers in crisis * ReMerge, serving mothers facing nonviolent felony charges * Pivot, helping teenagers experiencing homelessness with food, shelter, clothing, education, and counseling * Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, the state's largest domestic hunger relief organization * NewView Oklahoma, providing services for blind or low-vision individuals Five cards in each machine will represent the needs of two global charities: Church World Services and WaterAid. With a simple card swipe, individuals can purchase items ranging from $5 to $200, and the donor receives a tax-deductible receipt, while the charity receives 100% of the donation. Local charity representatives, including Jennifer Goodwin, CEO of Pivot, and Riley Benson-Ferren, communications director of Infant Crisis Services, are excited about the potential benefits of the Giving Machines. "It's a way for people to walk up and see exactly what they're getting... a great way to raise awareness for all of the different nonprofits and a way for the community to come together and give," Goodwin said. The Light the World campaign has been a global success, with over 100 cities participating and over $33 million contributed to local charities and worldwide agencies since its debut in 2017. Oklahoma Latter-day Saints hope to make this an annual tradition, featuring different charities and locations in the future. #GivingMachine #MakeADifference #Nonprofit #Nonprofitleader #socialjustice

I’ve been quiet…it’s weirding people out. But here’s why: 2-3% of children in the USA don't have beds. They sleep on the floor in piles of clothes or blankets or…whatever they can get. And for six months, we've been quietly strategizing how to help change that statistic. Check it out: Kristin and I just launched Luff Sheets, where every sheet set sold *also* means a new set of sheets donated to organizations that build beds for kids. People need sheets, the kids need sheets. It’s a win/win and a more meaningful approach to retail therapy. Not only are the sheets incredibly comfortable and buttery (we don’t sleep on anything else anymore), but holy sugar…we had no idea the demand for donated sheets. It’s huge. Collectively, these organizations need thousands of sheet sets each year. We hope to soon be delivering them by the pallet load soon! - Sleep in Heavenly Peace - Buildingbeds.org (part of BridgePoint Church FL) - Building Beds 4 Kids - Beds for Kids - And more to follow…it’s overwhelming. If you know other organizations in need, have them reach out! Link below 😀 In celebration of our launch, we’re DOUBLING our donation for all preorders between now and February 29th. Not only that, but take 15% off using code 4THEKIDS. Join us in our mission to make bedtime better for children across the country. Maybe you’re not in the market for sheets, but if you’re the kind of person who wants to spread the good around, we’d love it if you liked and shared. Thank you! #LuffSheets #donate #dogood #newbeginnings

This holiday season, give the gift of comfort, strength, and love. As the holiday season approaches help create magical moments for families at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho. The holidays can be particularly challenging for these families, and your generosity can make a significant difference. Here are several ways to support our families this season.... Giving Tree: Display our Giving Tree ornaments in your office, church, gym, store, restaurant etc. to facilitate donation drives. Each ornament highlights specific needs from families, such as snacks, household supplies, clothing, toiletries, or toys. Share the ornaments with your colleagues, customers, and friends, and collect the items for us to distribute. Online Giving Tree: We can create a personalized online giving page for you, detailing Wish list items and needs. This page can be shared electronically, and also offers an option for monetary donations to RMHC of Idaho. Volunteer Opportunities: We need holiday volunteers to help organize, sort, and distribute donations, as well as bake goodies, cook meals, and assist around the House. Your support is crucial in keeping families together during some of the most difficult times in their lives. We do not charge families for our services; it’s the generosity of our community that makes this possible. If you’d like to help make the holidays special for families at the Ronald McDonald House, please email us at [email protected].
