Exciting times for apprenticeships! Despite challenges, we are seeing a 0.7% rise in overall apprenticeship starts, with higher-level programmes thriving and making up 36% of starts. It's encouraging to see nearly 20,000 more young people starting apprenticeships compared to 2018, with 78,930 young starters last year, representing 23.2% of the overall total. Rob Colbourne, CEO of Performance Through People, shares: "Apprenticeships have always been important to me, as I know the positive impact they have on individuals and businesses. Over several years, the constant change and bureaucracy has clearly impacted on the brand, but it is great news that apprenticeship numbers are on the increase. PTP are proud of the supportive employers that we work with, providing many worthwhile job opportunities for the local communities. It is evident that programmes such as Pathway2Apprenticeships and Bootcamps, where individuals can progress onto an apprenticeship, are helping increase the number of apprenticeship opportunities available."
