  • Only three months separate these two photos, and they mark a significant chapter in the history of Australia's training sector. Bianca Taylor began her incredible journey at just 16 years of age, and soon became South Australia's first female stonemason apprentice. Over four years, Bianca honed her skills on prestigious projects, including the historic restoration of Adelaide Railway Station and the redevelopment of the old Royal Adelaide Hospital. This year, Bianca had the incredible opportunity to work alongside master-masons at Exeter Cathedral in England as part of the Cathedrals’ Workshop Fellowship. Her remarkable achievements led her to be named the 2024 SA Apprentice of the Year, an award presented by our very own Kara Prichard, our SA State Manager. This month, Kara and our team had the privilege of watching Bianca receive national recognition as the runner-up in the Apprentice of the Year category at the 2024 Australian Training Awards. In 2024, we had the honour of celebrating apprentices like Bianca across Australia, recognising their hard work and commitment. That's why we are proud to have sponsored numerous events all over Australia this year, including: 🏆 South Australian Training Awards as the Principal Sponsor 🏆 NSW Training Awards as the Major Sponsor 🏆 Queensland Training Awards as one of the Major Sponsors 🏆 Tasmanian Training Awards as a Premium Sponsor 🏆 ACT Training Awards as one of the Major Sponsors What a year it has been — so many inspiring stories told by apprentices, employers and everyone who has contributed to making 2024 unforgettable. A big round of applause to Bianca and all of you who have given your best and reached new heights this year. 2025 is just around the corner, and we're ready to create even more amazing memories with you all. #Apprenticeships #ATT #Awards #MasNational #IntoWorkGroup

  • Why wait until 2025 to sign up new apprentices when we can get them ready to start achieving their goals right at the beginning of the new year? We may be about to wrap up 2024, but our team remains committed to supporting our clients across Australia, helping them prepare for another promising 365 days. In Tasmania, our Apprenticeship Consultant, Julie Iles, visited Found in Earth - Deloraine Floristry to sign up a new apprentice who will pursue a Certificate III in Floristry. Marjorie Milner College will deliver the program. Julie also joined Warren Ferrari, our state manager for Tasmania, at an event in Launceston to support SCALA the Training Company and their graduates. In South Australia, Hilton Adelaide welcomed Romeo to their team. He’s their new apprentice, embarking on a career as a chef. The program will be delivered by TAFE SA, and we're thrilled to support all aspects of his sign-up. Also in SA, our Business Engagement and Workforce Development Consultant, Ryan Palmer, along with our First Nations Engagement Advisor, Peter Tucker, and other team members, attended the SA ‘Closing the Gap’ Panel Event. "Hosted by the National Indigenous Australian Agency in partnership with the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, the event gave attendees the chance to hear from a broad range of industry representatives on how they are effecting change within their areas," Ryan explained. Our very own Peter joined the panel to discuss our efforts in supporting First Nations People to secure employment across Australia. Ryan also attended the Future Energy conference held at the Innovation District at Tonsley TAFE this month. There’s much more happening across Australia, so stay tuned to see how we are helping Australians and businesses achieve their goals in 2025. #Apprenticeships #Traineeships #Employment #ApprenticeConnectProvider #Floristry #CommercialCookery #TAFE #FirstNations #MasNational #IntoWorkGroup

  • Imagine starting your career with the backing of a Federal Minister, a Senator, and a Policy Advisor! That's exactly what happened for Kaedyn, who had the incredible opportunity to share a pivotal moment in his professional journey with the Federal Minister for Skills and Training, the Honourable Andrew Giles MP, Senator Anne Urquhart and Policy Advisor Maddison Child. They were there to celebrate as he signed up to become an apprentice with Burnie Toyota in Tasmania, where he'll be pursuing a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology. As part of a cutting-edge New Energy Apprenticeship, Kaedyn will dive into hands-on experience with electric, hybrid and traditional petrol vehicles. He's joined a dynamic team of apprentices at Toyota Burnie, and the Minister and Senator got to hear their stories and the company's dedication to skill development and career growth. Kara Prichard, our State Manager for SA, who attended the event, said, "It was fantastic to see the Minister, Senator and Policy Advisor - Maddison Child, connecting with the apprentices and employers, hearing firsthand about their experiences and discussing the supports available through our Apprentice Connect Australia Provider contract. It's clear the Government is committed to boosting completion rates and supporting Australia's transition to a cleaner future with these New Energy Apprenticeships." What defines a good day for you? "Any day I get to spend a good chunk of time outside is a good day for me," says Georgie Lees, our Career and Mentoring Specialist in Canberra. Life outdoors suits not only Georgie hobbies, like swimming, bushwalking, and playing tennis, but also her role in travelling around the region to support apprentices and employers in achieving their goals. "I love helping apprentices and organisations through the process and fostering a positive learning culture," she says. Georgie brings a wealth of experience to her role, including skills in project management, business process improvement and communication. Her passion for apprenticeships and traineeships is driven by the opportunity to develop new skills while working. "A career in trades can help us fulfill the four universal human needs: competence, contribution, connection, and choice," she explains. "Learning when applied straight away is more likely to stick and make sense than theoretical learning." • When young people receive the right support, they can build a promising career and succeed in any field. 💪 Bayden was struggling to stay focused at school, but soon discovered an opportunity where he could earn a qualification and an income at the same time through an apprenticeship program. After successfully completing a trial with Garuttis Cabinet-Making, Bayden received an offer to become an apprentice and pursue a career in carpentry. Our Apprenticeship Consultant from Queensland, Danielle Raisbeck, recently met with both parties to finalise the sign-up process and connect Bayden with our local Career and Mentoring Specialist, Shanau Cowan. Shanau is now supporting Bayden through our Mas Achieve program, helping him to stay on track with his training and studies, ensuring he successfully completes his apprenticeship and becomes a qualified tradesperson. Mas Achieve is more than just a support program; it’s a dedicated team of mentors committed to your success. It offers guidance, support, coaching and connections that are essentials for success. Whether through video calls, in-person meetings, or phone check-ins, we ensure you are supported and connected at every stage. If you’re an apprentice or an employer with Mas National visit our website to learn more about Mas Achieve and how you can access this support stream. 👉 https://bit.ly/3MvEDUP #MasAchieve #ApprenticeshipSuccess #CareerGrowth #SupportSystem #MasNational

  • Huge congratulations to our clients, who truly shone at the @AustralianTrainingAwards (ATA) and emerged as the ultimate winners! Harley Mansell was the runner-up for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year. As a proud Pakana man, he became a trainee to pursue a leadership role with Wukalina Walk, transitioning from a support guide to a lead guide. He achieved this by undertaking a Certificate III in Guiding at TasTAFE. "Since completing his qualification, Harley has become an advocate for vocational education, encouraging young community members to explore the many training options available to them. Harley knows that being on country is important to Aboriginal people, and TasTAFE’s guiding course allows them to learn on country as well as in the classroom," said the ATA. Additionally, Gunggandji-Mandingalbay Yidinji Peoples PBC Aboriginal Corporation (GMYPPBC) received the Gold Award as the Small Employer of the Year. This charity and not-for-profit organisation, based in Yarrabah, QLD, is Australia’s largest discrete Aboriginal community. In the last seven years, they’ve grown from a single part-time employee to a committed team of 15. You can learn more about the great impact they are having on the local community, particularly through their First Nation Ranger program, here: https://bit.ly/3ZpCLTW In Tasmania, Howrah Plumbing, received the bronze award in the same category. "Howrah Plumbing employs 47 staff and offers a range of plumbing services in Southern Tasmania. In partnership with local registered training organisations, Howrah Plumbing supports its staff to complete nationally recognised training in plumbing, project management, leadership, and safety-related areas," said the ATA. "At any point in time, around 40% of staff are engaged in training." We invite you to join us in giving our clients and all the winners and nominees of the Australian Training Awards a big round of applause. They have all been successful at the state level and deserve all the recognition they received at the nationals this year. Please feel free to share your praise in the comments below! 👇 #ATA2024 #Winners #Awards #MasNational #IntoworkGroup

  • November was a whirlwind of activity for our team, and we're using today's #TBT to highlight some of the incredible events we attended across Australia. We were thrilled to celebrate the apprentices and trainees of TAFE Queensland at both the Robina and Ashmore campuses. "Mas National were a proud sponsor and supporter of both events. Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners," said Juliet Stewart, our State Manager for QLD. Down in Tasmania, our State Manager Warren Ferrari represented us as a sponsor of the Employer of Choice event. "It was a privilege to learn from such amazing Tasmanian businesses. They should all be very proud," he said. In South Australia, our team had the honour of gathering at the Apprentice Employment Network SA annual conference and gala dinner, where we were a premium partner. "Apprentices commencing and successfully completing are at the center of everything our SA GTOs do, so it was really special to spend a day together, learning, looking at industry trends, and collaborating to find new and innovative ways to increase apprentice commencements across SA," said Kara Prichard, our State Manager in SA. She also proudly represented us at the South Australian Aboriginal Building & Civil Construction Academy’s Empower & Employ Gala. According to her, "It was a brilliant night, dedicated to creating apprenticeship and traineeship employment opportunities for Aboriginal jobseekers." As the year winds down, we still have more amazing events to attend this month and continue to celebrate apprentices' achievements all around Australia. Stay tuned to this space so you don't miss a thing! #trainingawards #australianapprenticeship #masnational #intoworkgroup
