for the people and every individual mostly to
their employees and communities as I
perceive that they have a vow on their own to
be socially responsible at all aspects to

is to earn profit and achieve development and

to ensure that their employees are well looked

for the large companies to let aim for this
kind of goal as they should not only take into
considerations the profit and benefit they will
gain because of their business. Because
without the aid of the community and
employees, the business will be nothing.
Thus, every business should make assured

of the greatest things we must be focused on

such a gap for their young heart and mind.
Thus, this will be a gateway to nurture and

bursaries and grants to public schools, health

excellent opportunity for businesses to
interact with exceptional young students and
create connections. Businesses may design
their scholarships to suit their needs and
identify prospective graduates with their
organization's talents. The Metrobank
Corporation looks ahead and is committed to
supporting the community. They emphasize
social responsibility and are interested in
developing a CSR program that shows the
dedication of their firm to benefit society.
They are also a well-established image
construction tool that may reach thousands of
students and potential candidates, meanwhile
benefiting their company. Education is said to
be a gem nowadays as the current generation
is the hope of our country. Whereas, this
corporation grants scholarships to help
students mostly the unprivileged ones to let
their education continue and they will
shoulder the expenses that the students may
face. Students now have to pay for the
necessary degree to join the workforce and to
become part of the community. This will be a
huge help for every learner as well as to help
their parents with their expenditures.

relief operations. They perform social
responsibility simply because they are willing
to extend their help to the people within the
community they are a part of. Even if their
main goal is to give quality service and safe
rides for customers in traveling through
airplanes, they still show their benevolence
 amidst the disaster the community had
suffered. Every business such as Cebu
Pacific has to plan for it, but we never want
calamity to happen. In the event of an
unanticipated calamity, the communities in
which businesses work and their workers and
customers reside might be disturbed.
Everywhere in the country, we observe
unpredictable natural disasters. Companies go
far and beyond proactive preparation,
ensuring resources are accessible and helping
others in times of need.

Activity 6
1. No, I do not believe that the majority of today's companies are not sincere in their CSR or Corporate Social
Responsibility. It is because along with the development of our country, is also their development and they
achieve growth and improvement in certain aspects especially in their revenues gained from their clients and
customers. A vast number of business are still inclined with the CSR as being seen in reality because they
still take the CSR as part of one's business strategy as they are not just focusing on the revenues they gain,
but also they think of a possible way on how they can contribute and extend their gratefulness because,
without them, they are nothing. Such companies/businesses like SM, Metrobank, Shell, and other businesses
are still seen for having CSR as Corporate social responsibility aims at giving the community back,
participating in social causes, and providing good social benefit. Increasingly companies turn to CSR to
make a difference and create a positive reputation.
2. Yes, I agree that start-up businesses must also actively participate in CSR or Corporate Social
Responsibility programs and activities for various reasons. Various benefits ahead can bring not just for the
business itself but also the community. Firstly, it will improve one's connections as startup businesses are
built on the formation of ties and interactions. They are the lifeblood of startups. Involvement in CSR or
corporate social responsibility in its initial phases demonstrates that business organization cares about more
than simply profit. If they have a good link with society, they will undoubtedly have a great connection with
their consumers and future investors. Establishing such broader and more significant relationships with the
community might help one fledgling firm develop wholesome and successful foundations. Secondly, it
makes the most of the startup business marketing and image. With customers, focusing their purchasing on
businesses that support charitable causes, businesses are trying to include CSR into their business strategy.
Embracing CSR immediately may provide the business a competitive advantage and help it build a positive
reputation relatively soon, which may lead conscientious customers to their business. CSR offers the firm
the necessary media attention, but it can only be effective if they are looking for more than just publicity.
Thirdly, improve employee moral. Every business wants to achieve something wonderful and significant in
their life and we can contribute an additional feeling of fulfillment to a business that is proud to accomplish
well and give back. A startup can recruit new employees, maintain current staff and develop a culture within
their developing company if the priority for the CSR is given. Moreover, if workers have a stronger sense of
self-worth through CSR, they will be more engaged and encouraged. Lastly, it makes the world greater The
world is brightened up by CSR activities and programs. Every startup Yu has done something significant if
their organization can have the tiniest beneficial influence. Start-ups all seem to be about doing what is
impossible, and CSR may give the firm the motivation to persevere and give their community back again.
Somewhere at the end, the social responsibility of businesses must form a foundation of their corporate
strategy. It can not only deliver outstanding outcomes for the business, as well as for the community.
3. Based on my own viewpoint, I think CSR or Corporate Social Responsibility is important in every business
because it may strengthen the identity of a business and grow its value. It also enables workers to make
excellent use of the company resources available to them. It may increase the morale of employees and
improve labor productivity. This is not just important to business, but also to the community it establishes as
CSR shows that is a business that focuses on broader societal concerns instead of those that influence their
profit margins and attract consumers who share the same values. It is therefore sensible for the company to
function effectively. With this strategy of every business that has CSR, a ton
of opportunity may arise to one's company as they are not just focusing to gain larger incomes but merely to
help other people especially in times of need. It is one way for the business to achieve its triumph and
growth.

Situation
(Agree) (Disagree) (Justification)
1. The issue of From the situation in number 1, I totally
minimum wage in the disagree about the situation "The issue of
Philippines minimum wage in the Philippines" because it
does not make an ethical relationship towards
employers and employees. Minimum-wage
policies diminish employment in small
businesses. It leads to a reduction in
manufacturing staff for small businesses.
Furthermore, employers are hesitant to recruit
younger, less educated, and female
manufacturing employees due to the
minimum wage. Minimum wage regulations
 do not come cheap. Employers are forced to
make difficult decisions and compromises as
a result of them. When the government raises
salaries, non-wage compensation
falls. Employees are given less paid time off,
shorter breaks, more insurance rates, and
fewer benefits. Some employees are laid off.
It is not ethical because there are more
workers who will seek another opportunity
because he is reducing employment. It's not
fair for workers or employees to just get the
minimum wage though, they did a big job
part of the business.
2. Ethics of labor From the situation in number 2, I totally
contractualization. disagree about the situation "Ethics of labor
contractualization" because it does not make
an ethical relationship towards employers and
employees. Aside from this is an ethical issue
which may focused on the employer's duties
toward the employees, this is because this
practice is a recruiting tactic for a few days
before the end. Generally, for fewer than six
 months one gets selected in this scheme.
Employees shall be set off or moved to other
businesses under this sort of agreement
before even the expiry of the timeframe. It
can benefit employers in particular since it
minimizes the business costs for the salaries
of employees or workers. It is unethical and
ethical concern, however, as it is an open
door for the manipulation of the workplace
and the mistreatment of contract employees.
3. The issue of just  From the situation in number 3, I totally
wage. disagree about the situation "The issue of just
wage" because it does not make ethical
relationship towards employers and
employees. Aside from this is an ethical issue
which may focused on the employer's duties
toward the employees, this is because since it
is an issue, there should be a fair wage for all
employees and the employer itself made
some gap to make the organization and him
bind together as one for the business. The
inherent right to a just salary is for
employees. Nevertheless, there is no
quantitative solution for a fair salary.
Through this, this creates a conflict between
the relationship towards employees and
employer itself. Business owners must
evaluate both the prevalent salary for the
industry and the sector in order to have a fair
remuneration for employees. They should
also take into account the capacity of their
company. The fairness of pay discussions
must be taken into account both the employer
and the employees. Finally, the cost of living
within the location in which the business
owner is operated must be accounted for.
4.The right to form From the situation in number 4, I totally
union and strike. disagree about the situation "The right to
form a union and strike" because it does not
make an ethical relationship towards
employers and employees. Aside from being
an ethical issue because it focused on the
worker's duties toward the employers, despite
the fact that employees have the basic right to
organize, create, and join labor unions, there
may be a problem with their employer's
relationship with them. Though it is
 necessary to ensure that they have a voice in
the firm to ensure that their basic rights are
preserved and respected, it may be exploited
by employees and be disastrous to the
business. If the employees go on strike, no
one will work, and the company will not
generate a profit on the day of the strike,
resulting in losses. Although it is
understandable that the employees do it since
there is something wrong with the company's
system. However, when misused, it can lead
to major complications.
5. Fiduciary duty of  From the situation in number 5, I totally
employee. disagree about the situation "Fiduciary duty
of employee" because it does not make an
ethical relationship towards employers and
employees. Aside from being an ethical issue
because it focused on the worker's duties
toward the employers, it is not fair that the
employees only are obliged to do that. It
should be fair square to build a stronger bond
and connection towards each other in every
business. Although it is important to have a
fiduciary duty of employees to its employer
and obliged always to act on behalf of his
employer, the employer itself might abuse his
power on the employees and take advantage
of them. Because of loyalty, candor, and care,
the employer may abuse the employee's
fiduciary duty. Moreover, it is an issue
because a violation of fiduciary duty can
occur in a variety of circumstances, and the
judiciary will normally consider whether a
fiduciary connection existed at the time of the
violation, the scope of the fiduciary
connection and whether the fiduciary's
obligations were broken within the extent of
the connection.

Reflection 1
I understand that social responsibility is ethical foundation which indicates that a person is bound to
collaborate and work with others to improve society as a whole. Social responsibility alludes to an individual's
obligation to consider about the repercussions on the entire economic world of its actions and choices. It also
involves the procedure taken by an organization in analyzing its duties in legal, economic, moral and social
decisions for various stakeholders. Each institution has its duties. They hold their workers, government,
creditors, suppliers, consumers, the public at large and, of course, other stakeholders under their responsibility.
A business that is socially responsible may strengthen the image of a firm and promote its image. Social
accountability enables employees to take advantage of their business resources. Corporate social responsibility
initiatives can enhance staff moral standards and lead to increased staff productivity. I also learned that the key
distinction between accountability and responsibility, whereas accountability cannot be shared and
responsibility can. Accountability includes not just being liable towards something, while also being committed
for every choice taken. Clearly, employees are the real assets of each business.  Firstly, a business must make it
possible for workers to be content and fulfilled. The management of any company or organization must
guarantee that the employees are treated equally, that they offer safe and secure workplace practices.
Compliance with public regulations, regular and honest payment of taxes, cooperation with the government on
economic growth, monitoring of waste controls and all other government policies are the responsibility of
businesses. The provider should be responsible for ensuring that fair pricing for products and services is fairly
paid in due course; businesses should also disclose any changes in the business or marketplace, coordinate
future progress and foster competitive environment. Each firm or corporation must closely follow the loan
agreement for creditors, guarantee that business ethics are exercised, that loans are utilized properly and that all
financial accountabilities are paid regularly. It is highly vital for consumers to supply excellent goods or
services. It is the obligation of the company to provide greater quality for the product or service it offers to
consumers. It also falls to them to guarantee that the consumers are supplied after sales service on the basis of
the nature of a product or service. The environment and society must be protected by every company.
Therefore, their responsibilities include promoting public health, adequate waste segregation and environmental
care. All companies must fulfill their commitments to their stakeholders. Investors are the persons or groups for
whom a company is responsible.
I realized that every business that exists not just in our country, but also others are not just focusing on
generating a ton of money and growing their business. Yet, they also build a good reputation and trust in their
consumers as they possess CSR or Corporate Social Responsibility within their business. For me, it is the best
way to make themselves at the highest peak of success as they aid other people especially those unprivileged
and needed the most of their hands. By their moral, it will lessen some dilemmas in our country and help the
nation's economy to create and develop improvements. Also, I realized that employees are certainly the big
asset of one's company because they help the business more than just the others. Without them, growth would
not be achieved. Without them, there will be no employees to take their jobs and duties to do the tasks for one
business. Businessmen require employees who can complete the work since the company's overall success
depends on their organizational effectiveness. This helps to evaluate strengths, weaknesses, and potential
management gaps in the enterprise.
I need to learn more about the deeper meaning of the responsibilities and accountability of
government, creditors, the general public, and other stakeholders as I want to broaden up my knowledge and be
open to more wisdom to gain. I am really curious about their responsibilities not just on what is written in this
module, but the extensive learnings that might be brought to me. Defining the position of each member
consciously, their tasks, and the team's success criteria may immediately have a good influence. It ensures
everyone knows what they do. It seems straightforward, but when responsibilities are defined, individuals know
what they want, how they can act, and what they need to do.

Reflection 2
I understand that ethical issues between employers and employees usually arise in one's business.
Ethical issues arise when a specific decision, circumstance, or behavior conflicts with the moral norms of a
community. Sometimes these disagreements are legally problematic since some approaches to handle this
problem may violate certain legislation. In business, it covers either the employer's obligations in respect of the
employees or the employer's obligations. There are two viewpoints on ethical concerns relating to employees.
First of all, they may allude to the employer's obligations towards employees. Secondly, these difficulties may
relate to the employer's responsibility. Companies face several forms of ethical problems. Nowadays, we are
discussing frequent ethical problems with omissions aimed at a personal advantage by most corporations. A
willful fraud is a criminal offense that is punishable under the law. Unfair competition means unfair and illegal
attempts via fraudulent or non-ethical business behavior to achieve unfair competitive advantages. Failure to
comply with the agreement concerns a contract between the employer and the employee where the employee
commits not to compete with the employer following the conclusion of this job inside the organization.
Environmental degradation contributes to external degradation via depleting resources including air, water, and
soil, ecosystem disruption, and species extinction. The relationship between customers explains how the firm
interacts with customers, their value, and how they deal with customers that make the company a positive
impression. Fairness is highly crucial in every corporate organization. That's how the corporation handles
employees in an appropriate, correct, and fairway or in any way. Staff relationship refers to the commitment of
the firm to establish and maintain a positive connection with the staff.
I realized that ethical issues between the relationship o employer and employees are not always
positive, there is always a negative impact ahead. It may have effects on the workers or in the employer itself of
one's company. This is because there might be abusive that can arise between those relationships because some
have the power and authority to do so hence, unjust is very common that can cause conflicts. Each decision is
made should be stabilized to have a good relationship with each other, it is just a matter of giving and take. If
they do not aid and have teamwork, it is merely likely to the loss of the business and dilemmas will lead them
from now up to end. Thus, it is important to understand each other and the ethical issues to resolve so that the
business itself would not collapse and will achieve growth and development continuously without encountering
any hindrances.
I need to learn out more about a morally defensible position on the ethical concerns of business
because some of them are not so known to me, and perplexity has hit me. What I did was I'm looking for and
don't get confused about information concerning that. I am taking the time to understand these things further so
that if I meet them in the future, I would not be so burdened and could simply learn the lessons that we are
going to learn.
