This year was indeed a roller coaster ride yet, we the Grade 12 students are

equipped to trail the victory, I am Patricia Anne M. Rivera, a senior high school student
from Accountancy, Business and Management. Senior High School Year is a milestone
as it acts as a moment of transition from youth to maturation in a young adult's life.
During this critical moment in our lives, younger folks become more autonomous as
they choose big choices, which may have repercussions for the rest of their lives.
It’s been a year already when we last experienced the tiring but rewarding days.
A lot has changed in a span but there’s so much to reminisce. Who would’ve thought
that we’ll get to miss the exhaust faces of our classmates? Back then, every day was
just a normal day, we’ll woke up, get to school, spend almost 8 hours or less in the
school and go home afterwards. But when things and the pandemic had happened, it
became so much special.
The lousy “good morning” has become an alarm to the students’ and teachers’
ears and the morning ceremony as the red carpet for those tardy students. A lot were
on their hangover stage after maybe reviewing notes, which is very unusual, maybe
when there’s exam, others who spent all night and dawn on mobile games, making
them missed the early school call time.
Lessons about accounting and marketing had left students in awe after being
overwhelmed by the rollercoaster financial transactions making every ABM student mad
for the entrepreneur who borrowed money and pay for installments, oh, so much entry
to be made. Index cards of Sir Magaling and Mrs. Belle added spooky factor in the
recitation but overall, it has brought a lot of focus on students to get the subject right.
Nonetheless, here we go with the recess, sharing lunch boxes with everyone while just
having a spoon and fork on their own, who bothers anyway? The lessons gained by us
a student in this strand lead us to the betterment and we utilized it in our own way. I still
remember back then, while we were having a food fest, a teacher corrected me
considering our labor, effort and expenses in our product as our price is so cheap. It is a
sense of fulfillment as this teacher gave me the clarity to give the right price for our
product. I am not ashamed because of my flaw yet; I am beyond grateful because this
learning lead me so much more than I ever expected.
Lunch time is balancing time for the ABM students. There’s always that one
corner where everyone is in crowd just to get to the final balanced amount of certain
common business like ABC Company, XYZ Company and the new Mobile Legends
Company. That’s probably what I missed on my own, less may agree though.
A tough day has ended and it was the normal scenario. After classes, exams or
maybe a terrifying presentation or defense, a treat was always served and there it was,
Grade 11 – ABM student’ confession for the whole community.

Nevertheless, with the current catastrophe that everyone encounters, the Covid-19
pandemic, a lot of things shifts into something peculiar or what is called “the new
normal”. To educators, students and even parents, education in the new normal is a
strain. In this rough situation, this new learning approach brought about by the COVID-
19 outbreak might be a further obstacle. And while people are all used to getting back to
'normal' will not happen soon. New normal seeks to ensure that students continue to
work academically to preserve their knowledge. In Bauan Technical Integrated High
School (BTHIS), the chosen modality for the learners is the Modular Distance Learning
wherein modules will be distributed to every students and answers will be passed at an
ample time given to them. Hence, it is quite impossible for the school to do such work
immersions as it too risky and not safe for the students to perform these kind of tasks.
Throughout my journey within my senior high school, I felt anxious and a bunch of
exhaustion was being encountered. I can't believe that this catastrophe will really hit our
lives especially the education of every learner.
It cannot be denied that, despite the pandemic's constant onslaught of difficulties,
teachers from the ABM strand bravely tackled them and devised their own strategies in
order to attain the ultimate aim of learning for the students. Various social media sites,
particularly Facebook and Messenger, have been utilized to communicate with other
students and relay important announcements or duties. In terms of publishing
assignments and meeting up with students online, class-in and google meet have been
the teacher's partners in achieving their goals. I applaud and appreciate their efforts on
our behalf. We students are able to cope with the situation and obtain knowledge thanks
to the teacher's perseverance and flexibility. I understand that this knowledge will not be
retained only for the school year 2020-2021, but will also be employed in the future to
deal with various real-life circumstances, as it will help me gain confidence and increase
my basic understanding. There are no words to adequately express my gratitude to the
ABM teachers, who worked alongside us to overcome these obstacles.
Only weeks and we’ll come to virtually graduate the senior high school days
already. We’ll get to enter the so-called “maturing stage”, the college level. This could
be the tough academic year that we get to know, also if we could be all honest, it’s
exhausting.
With the situation, maybe a lot weakened their interpersonal communication skills
with other people given the fact that we never get to see our new classmates, how do
they look like, how well are they behaved? Our teachers, are they comforting? Are they
wonderful and compassionate? We never get to see it but then, we somehow felt it.
Maybe we only get to chitchat through our mobile phones but the warmth of our
teachers’ and advisers’ compassion to us, students were really felt. The everyday and
frequent asking of how did our day went, are we still on it and the inspiring “you can all
do it”, those were all the proof that virtually, we are loved by the teachers. Of course,
there were laughter and jokes that made the group conversation alive, we couldn’t
missed that.
We’re blinded by the unending school works and we are drowning with the
mental issues and questioning about how well I am, how good my works are. We never
get to experience the bonding after school days and the binge-eating. We only get to
treat ourselves by watching Netflix and all. However, these things improved our
intrapersonal spirit. We could never deny that a bit, it brought us to have an open space
for ourselves.
If we were to end this school year, we all did well. We are Accountancy, Business
and Management graduates and we’re welcomed to the college life.

In an honest mouth, to be a leader is an honor, a lot would say but to be a leader

is a burden usually in the perspective of a leader himself. It is difficult to handle a group,
it is complicated to act upon and be a role model. It is wearying to lead.
Being an Accountancy, Business and Management student, we are subject to
play our roles in a business façade. It is already a role play of managing a business, a
team and people around the business. In a company perspective, a group a company, a
business goal is the group’s goal and the staffs or employees are the team whereas the
people outside, teachers, are the customers.
A business needs to satisfy the customers as how a group needs to put up the
cravings of the teachers upon achieving a certain goal. In order to work, one has to
lead. Company Executive Officer has to lead his employees same as the leader to lead
his members. It is tiring but needs to be one to one and express compassionate upon
them. A leader doesn’t need to boss around but to stand up firm and usher the rest.
As of now, we are defended on our title defense. Due to emerging pandemic, our
educational system is being affected. Thus, making the activities especially the group
work more complicated. The problems we encountered as a group is, since we have a
ton of responsibilities in school and home, we cannot divide our time well and mostly,
we are not able to catch up each other because some of them are busy on their own
business. Also, some do not have enough resources such as laptop and internet to be
able to cope up with the new normal. As a leader of this group, I tried to assess and
resolve this problem and eagerly conquer it easily for the sake of many. The only thing
that we do, is to help and understand each other during this time to comply everything
we are tasked to do.
Being a CEO, you must have all the qualities you aim for your every employee
and so the leader must possess everything that you require your members to do and to
have. A leader has the overall responsibility of creating, planning and implementing
strategic actions to get all the work done. Virtually speaking to employees or members
can be confusing as it leads to misunderstanding but a certain leader will be the best
communicator.
A leader doesn’t need to reject mistakes but to hold accountable to it. However,
we will all come to experience being a leader anyway, maybe in academic, circle of
friends, in a business, or could be in our future family. By then, we’ll get to know how to
be a good one. It can't be denied that despite the continual surge of problems
amidst the pandemic, ABM students faced these challenges dauntlessly since they
wanted to achieve their ultimate goal of learning. Their resilience and flexibility to cope
up with the situation allow them to accomplish the tasks that were assigned to them.
Immense teamwork within each group also helped them to push through and succeed
together. There might be times that they failed or fall down, but they always get back up
onto their feet, ensuring that they will come back stronger. At the end, what's important
for them are the learnings and the memories that they promise to cherish forever as
they move on to the next chapter of their lives.
