Catalog Description:
Speed and volume studies, traffic operations and characteristics, traffic flow theory, accident
characteristics.
Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, students will be able to apply design provisions from the AASHTO
and TRB design guidelines, as to:
1. Planning, design and analysis of integrated traffic systems;
2. Estimate travel demand in the study areas;
3. Conduct traffic studies and operational improvements;
4. Design and analysis of highway intersections; and
5. Applying Highway Capacity Analysis software in various highway and street systems.
