⚽ Dreams come true at Wembley Stadium ⚽
On December 10th, a magical day unfolded at Wembley Stadium for a family we support.
11-year-old Hayden, who has complex medical needs, his twin brother Kole, younger brother Jack and mum, Beth, visited Wembley Stadium to enjoy exclusive access at the home of English football, thanks to Together for Short Lives.
This unforgettable experience brought smiles, laughter, and memories to last a lifetime. From scoring penalties on the iconic pitch to visiting the players’ dressing room, Hayden and his family soaked up every moment, with the support from members of the incredible St Oswald’s Hospice care team 💙
Beth said: "The boys had the best day ever and loved every minute. Hayden smiled non-stop and absolutely loved getting the train down to London. I can’t thank St Oswald’s Hospice enough for this amazing experience. The boys will remember it forever."
A huge thank you to Together for Short Lives, Carabao Group, and everyone who made this early Christmas gift possible! 🎄

The first #FootballAgainstMND Gala Dinner went into full swing, supporting the great work of The Mel Evans MBE Foundation and the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.
Football legends, soap stars, rugby heroes, journalists along with scientific boffins (proper term) who are committed to advancing a cure for MND through research and trials were joined by MND warriors, their families, friends and supporters who in standing strong and BANGING 🥁together shows the power the MND Community has in helping move the dial against this cruel disease.
Great night with Caroline Quick, Mike WilsonSally WilsonSteve WoodCharlotte Morris, John Coleman, Chris Kirkland and his family
A special thank you must go to United’s Nicky Butt and Corrie star Daniel Brocklebank for letting me interrupt their evening to share an idea with them but more so for their kindness in making it happen without hesitation 🙏
A powerful and life-affirming night filled with laughter, wonderment, tears and inspiration that showed it’s our friendships are key when you’re going through the biggest of life challenges, but when coupled with the kindness of people we don’t know or may never meet then we really do create a superpower that can help drive and deliver hope.
There is a saying you hear a lot “It's the #HOPE that kills us”. I beg to differ, as I think it's the lack of #HOPE that will break us.
With the likes of Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, The Mel Evans MBE Foundation, Lynn Pritchatt, Richard Brailsford, Steph Houghton MBE, Mike Wilson, Filipe Morais, Louise & Marcus Stewart, My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, Ian Flatt, David Setters Lindsay Burrow, Kev Sinfield & Dame Professor Pamela Shaw leading the charge for team #AttackMND………..

Let's Celebrate Community, Mental Health, and the Beautiful Game
Soccer has been a central part of my life—playing in the English Premier League, and working with the U.S. Women’s National Team during our gold-medal-winning quest at the 2012 London Olympics. It’s a sport that has shaped me, revealing my character and teaching me lessons about discipline, focus, camaraderie, strategy, teamwork, determination, and so much more.
That’s why I’m thrilled to support and advise The Sensational League, which is bringing the power of play to cities across the country, starting with my hometown. It’s more than just a league—it’s a movement rooted in community and mental health, with soccer as the unifying force. At a time when life feels increasingly stressful, The Sensational League reminds us of the joy and connection that come from play.
Over the years, I’ve heard some say that women shouldn’t compete, as if competition is somehow incompatible with collaboration or belonging. I couldn’t disagree more. Competition calls us to grow, to bring our best, and to inspire others to do the same. Today, we’re finally starting to see the recognition women’s sports deserve—not just for the incredible quality on the field but for the impact it makes off the field as well.
The Sensational League is led by one of my favorite people, Majken Gilmartin, a visionary who we're also proud to call a member of Angel Club. If you’re passionate about creating vibrant communities through soccer—or if you’re simply curious about how you can bring this league to your city—I encourage you to reach out to Majken directly to explore partnership opportunities.
Let’s keep building a world where connection, play, and inclusion thrive. Who do you want to win with? Let's win together.
I attended an AFL match on the weekend (my GWS Giants vs Nth Melbourne Kangaroos). Both before and after game I had times to pause and think about the relationship between an AFL team and their supporters, and how there are parallels to those of the Generation/Transmission industry and the Communities in which they operate.
A Generation or Transmission projects, as with a football team, will not long last if it does not engage with and have support with the community.
Listening to the GWS inaugural Captain (Phil Davis) speak at a farewell event before the game for the team (as "should" be for a Generation project) a primary focus from the start was to be engaged and delivering enjoyment and success to their community. He noted that this is not something you can do overnight. It needs to be a consistent effort and long term focus. This is how wider community and generational support is built, and that without it the success is empty and meaningless.
And the engagement needs to be different at different times depending on what the community needs. GWS as a young football club, their community (younger boys and girls) want pictures and signatures and the chance to run around on the field. This was all on show after the game. For them, it is building life long support within that part of their community. For Generation and Transmission projects, there will be specific things that are important to each community, and these will differ between communities. And if the projects aren't prepared to listen to or look at what is important to a community, then it will be impossible to deliver it and build that relationship.
Community is key. Without it the success is meaningless.
There are examples we as a wider industry can draw on from many different spheres. Whether it be Football organisations, or companies like Neoen Australia. We should never stop trying to do and be better corporate citizens, seeking to share success and bring joy to the communities in which we operate.
(Oh, and "Up the Giants!")

Healthy Homes program offers up to $15K in home renovations for vulnerable groups
For those who find themselves struggling to afford the necessary home repairs and improvements to keep their environment safe, there's a new program that aims to help.
Greater Bergen Community Action has launched its Healthy Homes program, an initiative that aims to remediate environmental hazards in 140 residential units throughout Bergen and Passaic counties. For each, the organization is offering up to $15,000 worth of essential home improvements — to address risks like mold, lead and structural deficiencies — to vulnerable income-eligible populations like seniors age 65 years and older, disabled individuals and families with young children.
It is funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and Program Director Avery Headley said GBCA was one of just 20 organizations nationwide — and one of two in New Jersey — to receive the grant.
