AA$36.5 million has been set aside to provide 10,000 rebates worth A$3,500 to customers who buy a new electric or hydrogen fuel cell vehicle up to a value of A$70,000, and A$23 million for the WA EV Network to build fast-charging stations along major travel routes. The same grant system will also provide $10 million for not-for-profit and SMEs to install charging infrastructure. Another $4 million will be used to install charging infrastructure at train stations. Interestingly, the subsidy covers fuel cell cars (the Toyota Mirai costs about A$60,000, and the FCEV Toyota Hia-Ace may cost even more). Overall, The Western Australia State Government will invest over A$200 million into electric vehicle adoption and charging infrastructure for the state. Additional funds have been set for the acquisition of electric buses https://lnkd.in/dAiQgwxM
