This article is interesting on how to transition from an EA position to your career choice. Administrative Assistants are the Jack of All Trades, the gatekeepers within their entity. If your resume has experience in only the Administrative/Clerical field, and you're career path is in Marketing per say. Most employers will reject or deny your application simply from the lack of experience an applicant may have.

The 21st Century or what we call the modern times. Is there still a stigma that an Executive Assistant faced in this current period? Let's be honest, most of the people in different industries actually thinks that an Executive Assistant is just in the company to fetched coffee, answer phone calls or just sit there looking pretty. This is the image of every EA's out there in every parts of the world, and most of the times these are the reason why an EA have a hard time in looking for motivation to pursue this type of career. And there are times that they are facing doubts in themselves and their work. It is very hard to find an EA who actually "click" instantly with their bosses since every personality is different. Sometimes, even though compatibility is present what lacks is the recognition and showing that the work done is actually appreciated. A small child seek recognition in every good or right thing that they have done, what more is an adult person? In my opinion, there are two types of an executive assistant. There is an EA who is at the top of the field- being recognized, included and properly compensated. The other one is the EA at the bottom of the filed- this one is being treated as a receptionist, a figurine, a rank and file employee, not properly compensated and not even appreciated. This means that even in the modern times, half of the executive assistants out there still faces the stigma and that ladies and gentlemen is the reality that we EA's needs to overcome. A hard pill to swallow but we need to have a glass full of motivation, intelligence and skills to gulp it smoothly and without a hiccup.

I’m NOT just here to make a bigger impact. 😳 I’m here to give other Executive Assistants an opportunity to make a bigger impact WITH me 🚀 I’m here to see every executive assistant in my world, reach their career goals and add big numbers to their annual salary. I’m not talking a couple of EA’s but A LOT. 💥To do this, I created close proximity spaces (1:1 and group programs) with a high level of access, support and guidance to me. Having said this, my clients are smart, intelligent and astute business professionals who are more than capable of doing it alone but instead desire a wing woman 🦹♂️ and a private community (if they prefer a group) of other career growth focused EA‘s. 💥I am here to show the world that EA’s are the ultimate business professional who have the positioning and expertise to pivot their careers in ENDLESS directions, should they desire. 💥To educate as many as possible, that yes, whilst the EA role can be a lifelong career it can also be a stepping stone to something else. 💥I am for those who have courageously decided they want to make a bigger impact, but desire guidance and support because they know it will help them get there faster than if they were to do it alone. The best part? I’m just getting warmed up. Are you with me? We’ve got this 💫 #careercoaching #executiveassistants

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭😱 A CEO I once worked with was overwhelmed. She spent hours each week sorting through a mountain of emails, handling personal errands, and managing daily admin tasks. She thought she had to do it all herself to save on costs. But here’s the kicker: Those tasks were eating into her time for strategic thinking and big-picture planning. She missed out on valuable opportunities because she was buried in the details. Sure, hiring an EA means another salary. But here's the real deal: 👉 An EA handles those personal tasks you never get around to. Need those holiday cards sent or a last-minute gift mailed? I've got you. That's more time for you to focus on the work that actually brings in money. 👉 A CEO shouldn’t be bogged down with tasks like sorting through emails. Delegate those administrative duties and free up your time. 👉 With someone dedicated to handling those day-to-day tasks, you regain precious hours. You'll be more focused on growing the business, revising services, and exploring new offers. An Executive Assistant isn’t just an added expense; we’re a game-changer for your business. What administrative tasks are currently eating up your time and holding you back from achieving your full potential? 👀

There are many reasons why you should consider moving jobs if you have been with your current employer for 4 years+ but sometimes the feeling of loyalty or commitment can make you feel like you ‘should stay’. One of the main ones is highlighted below. You are an amazing QS slowly developing through the business. Strange bit is not only are you expected to do your job, manage clients, manage assistants, deliver projects and bring in 2.5x salary…..a few other jobs have creeped in. You now seem to be the ‘go to’ for IT problems. You seem to also be responsible for always cleaning the office kitchen. That one problem client that is a bit of a pain “only wants to deal with you” which takes away at least 2 hours a week of your time even though your not managing his projects. Also the 3 APC candidates that are sitting there exam in November seem to be coming to you for advice because one of the partners keeps telling everyone that “you only sat it last year and are sure you will be happy to help out”. Suddenly you realise 5-10 hours a week are jobs that don’t benefit you OR your career - I am sure you get the picture. Over time lots of jobs ‘seem’ to become part of your role. Although it’s nice to be wanted; these are likely taking up time and expense that you could be investing in your own growth and personal/career development If this is you and you are looking for a little advice feel free to drop me a bell on 07714 228036 and I am always free for a chat. #jobdescription #MRICS #QuantitySurveyorjobs #QSCareers #Costmanagement

#Day19_my_VA_Journey VA Career Insights 🤩 Thinking About Becoming a Virtual Assistant? Here’s What You Need to Know! If you’re considering a career as a Virtual Assistant (VA), you’re stepping into a rewarding and dynamic world ideal for anyone who loves to support others, values flexibility, and enjoys variety in their work. Here’s a peek into the journey and a few tips to get started! 👇 1. Skills Over Tools 🛠 Don’t stress about knowing every tool out there! Focus first on core skills like communication, time management, and organization. Reliability and quick adaptability are traits that will always stand out, regardless of the software you use. 2. Find Your Niche 🤽♀️ The VA world is broad, from social media management to bookkeeping to customer support. If you’re unsure where you fit best, start by offering general support, then narrow it down as you discover what lights you up. Finding a niche can boost your confidence and help you attract clients in that specific area. 3. Building Client Relationships is Key 🔑 Remember, clients are people, too! Take the time to understand their business and goals so you can deliver work that genuinely supports them. Small gestures like follow-ups or just checking in with clients can make a huge difference in building long-lasting partnerships. 4. Set Boundaries and Manage Your Time ⏰ Working from home or remotely can blur the line between work and personal time. Set boundaries from the start. Block out personal time, communicate availability, and don’t be afraid to say "no" when a task feels overwhelming or outside your skill set. 5. Consistency and Professionalism Go a Long Way 🏄♂️ As much as we hear about automation, it’s the human touch that clients remember. Check your messages, follow up regularly, and always do what you say you’ll do. Building a solid reputation will open doors and help grow your client base. 6. Upskill as You Grow 💹 The more you learn, the more valuable you become! Don’t wait to be “perfect” to start – get going, and commit to learning on the way. From scheduling tools to copywriting, there’s always something new to master. 7. Remember Your Why 🤔 Every VA has a different reason for choosing this career – maybe it's flexibility, financial freedom, or the joy of helping businesses grow. Keep your "why" close, especially on tough days. It’ll keep you grounded and motivated. Starting as a VA can feel intimidating, but every step, no matter how small, builds momentum. Believe in the process, trust yourself, and enjoy the journey! 💪 🌟 #VirtualAssistantTips #VACareerInsights #BecomingAVA #VirtualAssistantLife #VACommunity #FreelanceLifestyle #WorkFromAnywhere #OnlineWorkTips #VAAdvice #DigitalNomadLife #RemoteCareer #NewVAJourney #FreelanceSupport #VirtualAssistantGrowth #UpSkill
