Day 7, #20DaysInPDWithAA USER RESEARCH User experience research is the systematic investigation of your users in order to gather insights that inform the design process. Competitive analysis which I spoke about in my last post is a type of user experience research. User research is a core part of every designer’s activity because this process helps you understand the user's needs, behaviors, and attitudes. Good user research is characterized by clear research goals and unbiased data collection and analysis. The purpose of user research is that it helps you know who your users are, in what context they are going to be using your product, and what they need from you, it also helps to validate or invalidate your assumptions. User research ensures they you are designing with the users in mind, it ensures you create a user-centric product which is key if you want to create a successful product. A product that doesn’t solve the problems of your users is useless, and carrying out user research before designing your product would help you avoid that Thank you Oluwaferanmi Aina for teaching me the purpose of user research and the various types! In my next post, I will be sharing the various types of research and how you can carry it out step by step. Thank you Dr. Aanu Gopald for putting together this wonderful boot camp that helps add value to young people like myself.🫶🏽 Thanks to the tech support that make my stay at the GIT Bootcamp seamless! Day 3: User Research User research is the secret sauce behind creating products that people can’t get enough of. It’s all about understanding our users – what they need, how they think, and what makes them tick – so we can design products that truly resonate. Why It Matters: Understanding our users isn’t just a nice-to-have; it’s a game-changer. It means smarter decisions, happier users, and a more successful product overall. When we know exactly what our users want and need, we can create experiences that feel like magic. How We Do It: We use a variety of methods to get inside the minds of our users, from surveys and interviews to user testing and field studies. Each method gives us a unique perspective and helps us uncover insights that we wouldn’t have found otherwise. Steps to Success: It’s not enough to just do user research – we have to do it right. That means setting clear goals, choosing the right methods, recruiting the right participants, and analyzing our findings thoroughly. And most importantly, it means using those findings to iterate and improve our product continuously. By putting our users front and center in the design process, we can create products that not only meet their needs but exceed their expectations. Let’s keep listening, keep learning, and keep innovating! #20DaysinPDwithAA #GIT20DaysChallenge

Hi LinkedIn community! This is Day-14 of my15-day challenge to share my journey as a recent graduate of Stakeholder Democracy Network (SDN) #WIT first batch as a product designer and brand identity enthusiast. I’m currently taking the Google Foundations of User Experience course on Coursera, and today, I want to share some key insights I’ve learned about design sprints. This method is invaluable for quickly solving design challenges and testing new ideas. Key Takeaways on Design Sprints: ⏱️ Speed: Design sprints accelerate the design process by condensing months of work into just a few days, allowing for rapid prototyping and iteration. 💡 Innovation: This structured approach fosters creativity and innovation, pushing teams to think outside the box and develop unique solutions. 🔄 User-Centric: Design sprints prioritize user feedback, ensuring that the solutions developed are grounded in actual user needs and behaviors. The 5 Phases of a Design Sprint: Understand: Define the problem and establish goals. Gather insights to set the direction. Sketch: Generate a wide range of ideas through sketching. Decide: Narrow down the ideas and select the most promising ones. Prototype: Build a realistic, testable prototype of the chosen solution. Test: Validate the prototype with real users and gather feedback. Following all these processes allows for quick design iterations, enabling us to efficiently move from concept to a validated solution. Day 9/20 #ProductDesign #20DaysinPDwithAA #GIT20Dayschallenge #GITbootcamp #AfricaAgility #AfricanGirlsinTechBootcamp #GITBootcampCohort7 It's another day of my GIT20dayschallenge in Product Design with #AfricaAgility. I would like to say a big thank you to all my tutors for exposing me to some of the not so pronounced but relevant sides of Product Design. It has not been an easy ride but it has obviously been an eye opening journey. Like we always talk about user journey in Product Design, I would like to say that I have had several pain points too in this journey. It has not been too easy but I actually trust the process that there is great light at the end of the tunnel. Someday, my user journey in this Bootcamp with #Africaagility is an experience I would like to talk about. How I was able to navigate, my journey, my experience, where I find myself now. Like I said earlier, I trust the process to bring out the best in me and also in the digital products I would always work with now and in the future.

🌟 **#TheBeginningWithBasics :) 10th Certification!** Finally achieved a milestone I've been working towards – my 10th certification! 🤩 Recently, I reached out to an ex-colleague for some honest feedback, and her genuine insights were incredibly motivating. It made me realize the areas where I could improve and inspired me to upskill in my profession. Reflecting on my interactions with coworkers, I've come to appreciate those who provide both motivation and constructive criticism. Embracing feedback, even when it's tough to hear, has been crucial in shaping my career journey. Sure, criticism can sometimes feel disheartening, but I've learned to see it as an opportunity for growth. By approaching it with optimism and a willingness to learn, I've been able to harness my inner confidence and power. Remember, it's never too late to learn something new and embrace change. As Heraclitus wisely said, "The only constant in life is change." ✨ **#learningopportunities #uiux #uiuxdeveloper #uxcommunity #Google #FoundationsofUserExperienceDesign #GoogleUXCertification #infopark #infoparkkochi #webdesign #htmldeveloper #stepbystep**

🌟 Achievement Unlocked: #DailyUI 003 🌟 I’m thrilled to share that I’ve just completed my #DailyUI challenge #003, and it was one of the most challenging tasks I've undertaken so far! 🎉 The Challenge ---------------------- Designing a landing page for alphabet cultural preservation, specifically for the new Umwero Alphabet, was not just a test of my web development skills but also an emotional journey to ensure that this unique alphabet, which aims to preserve and celebrate Kinyarwanda culture, was represented beautifully and effectively. The Struggle ------------------- As someone relatively new to web technology, starting this project from scratch with no references was daunting. The task demanded a balance between aesthetic appeal and functionality, all while staying true to the cultural significance of the Umwero Alphabet. The Triumph After many hours of coding, designing, and tweaking, I’m proud to say the landing page is now complete! 🎊 This project not only enhanced my technical skills but also deepened my appreciation for the intersection of culture and technology. Key Features of the Landing Page: Cultural Heritage Preservation: Highlighting the importance of the Umwero Alphabet in maintaining Kinyarwanda traditions. Linguistic Precision: Ensuring clear and accurate representation of the language. Community Engagement: Encouraging people to register for learning and support the initiative through donations. A big thank you to the #DailyUI community for the inspiration and support. Onwards and upwards! #webdevelopment #culturalpreservation #UIdesign #Kinyarwanda #UmweroAlphabet #codingjourney #achievement
