Day 9/20 #ProductDesign #20DaysinPDwithAA #GIT20Dayschallenge #GITbootcamp #AfricaAgility #AfricanGirlsinTechBootcamp #GITBootcampCohort7 It's another day of my GIT20dayschallenge in Product Design with #AfricaAgility. I would like to say a big thank you to all my tutors for exposing me to some of the not so pronounced but relevant sides of Product Design. It has not been an easy ride but it has obviously been an eye opening journey. Like we always talk about user journey in Product Design, I would like to say that I have had several pain points too in this journey. It has not been too easy but I actually trust the process that there is great light at the end of the tunnel. Someday, my user journey in this Bootcamp with #Africaagility is an experience I would like to talk about. How I was able to navigate, my journey, my experience, where I find myself now. Like I said earlier, I trust the process to bring out the best in me and also in the digital products I would always work with now and in the future.

#Storytime It's the start of December, you got your University semester's exams timetable showing your scheduled exam on 7th Dec (Saturday) and 9th Dec (Monday), you can't do anything but day&night revision; At the same time sir Ameen Alam decided to announce UX/UI Hackathon seizing your scape-doors all at ones. 😴 well, in all those swamped hours of 2 exams revision and attending Family-Guests [because I live in a brown family and Sunday is the guest-day in desi households], I somehow managed to put my part in the UX/UI hackathon. I ain't claiming big skyscrapers, but whatever I've learnt in all these Q2 classes, I applied everything whole-heartedly in it! Heartfelt thanks to Sir Ali Aftab Sheikh and Sir Fahad Khan for conducting such code-catalyst classes and cheers to continuous learning and growth! 🥂 [p.s. Ain't deploying it on GitHub or Vercel for now as it doesn't fulfil the key requirements, and I want to complete it by all means. 💬 ] I would appreciate your feedbacks! 💁♀️ #template2 #GIAIC #PIAIC #coding #hackathon #UX_UI

✨ Excited to share my work on the KnowTime app! ✨ As part of my CS411W senior capstone project at Old Dominion University, I had the opportunity to contribute to the development of KnowTime, a time management and productivity app tailored for students. Here’s a quick walkthrough of my contributions: 🎨 Front-End Contributions I focused on designing and implementing critical components of the user interface, such as: ✅ Home Page: Ensuring a clean and welcoming design that provides quick access to essential features. ✅ Task Board: Developed a fully interactive and sortable task board where users can organize and track their tasks. The task board integrates dynamic drag-and-drop functionality with backend synchronization. 🛠️ Back-End Development I was heavily involved in building the backend architecture for KnowTime: ✅ Canvas API Integration: Enabled seamless integration with Canvas LMS, allowing users to import assignments directly into the app. ✅ Task Management Database: Built and maintained the database for tasks and tags, ensuring smooth functionality across the app. ✅ Tag-Driven Customization: Developed a feature where tasks dynamically update their appearance based on user-defined tags. 📅 Calendar and Assignment Synchronization: I connected our backend with the front-end calendar, ensuring all imported assignments are displayed based on their due dates. Users can click on calendar entries to navigate directly to assignment details, enhancing usability and productivity. This project has been a fantastic opportunity to combine my skills in full-stack development, API integration, and user experience design. 📸 Visuals below: Check out screenshots of the Home Page, Task Board, and Canvas-Integrated Assignments in action! 🙌 A big shoutout to my amazing teammates for collaborating on this journey. What do you think of KnowTime? Feedback is always welcome! 🌟

𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝑺𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒍. 𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆. 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏 𝒃𝒚 𝑫𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈. Yesterday, I shared how taking the first step is often the hardest but most important part of the #journey. Today, I want to talk about the power of small wins and how they can lead to big breakthroughs. After my initial struggle with React, when I felt overwhelmed and quit midway through the course, I didn’t gave up. I decided to try again, this time learning from Youtube. What really made the difference was not just the content or the instructor’s style but it was more about how I approached the learning process. Instead of trying to master everything at once, I took small, manageable steps. I worked on a simple project called 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿. It wasn’t fancy or groundbreaking, but that didn’t matter. What mattered was that I was #learning about component-based architecture, props, and hooks. That project was my first real win with React. And here’s what I realized: 𝙎𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙨 𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙈𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙪𝙢. You don’t have to know everything or be #perfect from the start. Sometimes, just finishing a small project is enough to keep you #motivated and give you the confidence to tackle bigger challenges. It’s those little victories that fuel your progress. If you’re just starting out with any #technology don’t put pressure on yourself to learn everything all at once. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲. 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴.... Slowly, things will begin to make sense. Trust me, the learning curve might feel steep, but these small wins will keep you moving forward. So, if you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed right now, take a deep breath and break it down. 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, and let that momentum carry you through the next #challenge.

After the Advent Of Craft adventure on Christmas, another product is born, the Summer Craft Book. If you like the slow pace and fun approach, this one if for you! The idea with Yoan Thirion was to explore a less intensive format of exercises where one can read, learn at their own rhythm and not necessarily by on a IDE all the time. There is so much to software craftsmanship to get to and we are trying bit by bit. And there is also no reason to do it without some fun! Besides you don't even have the excuse of the stack since there is 4 stacks! (Java, C#, Typescript and Kotlin) ☀️ Enjoy your holiday and some rest!! 🍸

A very overdue post, but here it goes! Day 8, #20DaysInPDWithAA In my last post, I spoke about User Research and how it helps ensure that you're designing with your users in mind. In this post, I will speak briefly about the importance of user research. Carrying out user research before designing a product helps you design better products that people want to use because it keeps users' needs at the center of your design, that is why it is a non-negotiable part of your product design process. As my tutor Oluwaferanmi Aina said, little research is better than NO research, because we don't design based on assumptions but based on facts. Because the research phase ensures you're designing with real insights and facts, not guesswork, it saves you time and money, as the time that would be spent having a clear understanding of the users’ problems would be a lot shorter compared to designing just based on what you think. User research can be done on a budget, contrary to other opinions, you do not need to break the bank to carry out user research, there are ways to conduct faster and less costly user research, which I will explain in my subsequent posts. Remember that we think the user's news is not the same as what they really need! We design based on facts not based on assumptions. Thank you Dr. Aanu Gopald for putting together the GIT boot camp so meticulously, each class is always an eye-opening one! #20DaysInPDWithAA #GIT20DayChallenge #AfricaAgility #GITBootcampCohort #AfricanGirlsInTechBootcamp #GITBootcampC7Challenge
