Freelancing Isn’t Just About Skill-It’s About Going All Out for Your Clients Just wrapped up a project that pushed me to go above and beyond for a client who was recording with a guest for the very first time. She’s been solo podcasting for a while, but this time, with a guest involved, things got a little tricky. Technical issues cropped up-imbalanced volume levels, pauses, and a mix of audio imperfections that needed fixing to give her audience the smooth, high-quality episode she envisioned. When she sent me the raw audio, I jumped on it immediately. She needed a quick turnaround, so I worked through the night to fix the episode, balancing the volumes, removing background noise, and cleaning up the content. After the initial edit, we went back and forth on revisions to ensure it was just right because the episode’s topic was sensitive, so every word, every sound, had to hit the mark. No detail was too small. I added the intro and outro, made final adjustments, and ensured the content was in perfect shape. Honestly, It meant some serious sacrifices. Sleepless nights, skipped breaks, and staying glued to my device for every feedback. But seeing the final episode go live, knowing the client was thrilled with the result? That’s the real reward. Start Where You Are, Do What You Can, Use What You Have In the fast-paced world of podcasting and freelancing, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the tools, skills, and resources we think we need. But sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is simply start with what we have right now. "Start where you are, do what you can, use what you have." – This quote resonates deeply with me. It reminds me that progress and success aren't about having the perfect setup or all the answers from the get-go. It's about taking that first step, making the most of our current resources, and consistently putting in the effort. When I started my podcasting journey 6 years ago, I didn't have a fancy studio or the best equipment. Till now I am exploring on my own. What I had was passion, a microphone, and a desktop. Through dedication and continuous learning, I've grown and refined my craft. Every episode, every edit, every interview was a step forward. To all my fellow creatives and freelancers: don't wait for the perfect moment. Start now. Use what you have and do what you can. Your journey and experiences will shape your success. He was in my ears every week... and then, after a pitch and a funny Zoom meeting with me and Lynne Testoni in early 2023, he was in Sydney, blowing everyone’s minds on stage at #TheContentByteSummit. It was surreal and amazing and people still say to me, ‘It was Ed’s talk that made me think about ...’ or ‘I changed my business and now I do this, after hearing Ed explain it at the Summit...’ This is no surprise - the freelance world is full of heroes. Ed is one of mine and, I know, one to many of you. He never stops sharing value and helping freelancers in his orbit. And his words, ideas and advice have shaped so many of our businesses. So I feel pretty lucky to be on Ed’s podcast this week. We're both big believers in the power of community and we chat about Rachel's List, the importance of creating a tribe around us, and how even a small one can add up to much needed support, referrals and overflow work. 2025 Freelancing Predictions by Ishan Sharma & Saheli Chatterjee! Last Night, I finished this podcast! A pack of value for freelancers, learned a lot from this 1 hour 15 min podcast. Here are my 5 key takeaways from this conversation: 4th and 5th are my personal favorite 1) Focus on content: If your using social media to sell anything & capitalizing your attention then you need to focus on your content. 2) Don't jump directly to sales: Whenever you're getting on a call with client Must ask about them the KPI, The outcome they want from you build trust with your authority then just providing solution and proofs. 3) Product Building is gonna be next dominant market: 2025 is gonna be a goldmine to for the product builders out there! (Buckling up) 4) Become the Niche/Create a Monopoly: Saheli quoted: "No niche is bad if you're actually good, every niche sucks of you're average" Be a Monopoly, Make the market known by you. 5) Make more money from the same client: Ishan explained it in three steps: 1) Turn your 1 time client into a retainer. 2) Sell more services to the same client. 3) Help them with performance marketing. Most don't get the 3rd point it's in pinned comments Outclass insights, the experience of both speaks itself enjoyed it! now peace out ✌️

Reviews are fuel for freelancers 🔥 Go on. Ask. Toasty trade. I was struck by just how many Phil Matthews has on his website. I guess 20 years of doing a great job for people will do that. But... only because he asked for them. You can hear Phil on the Being Freelance podcast - or check out the video to hear why they work so well for him and his business. Don't forget, LinkedIn recommendations are a great trusted way of getting reviews/testimonials as a freelancer. But make sure you take quotes from them and get 'em on your website.
