Simply adding more testers to a beta test with low engagement usually results in demonstrating lack of customer interest at scale. Features added to achieve parity with an existing offering, or a competitor's product, for example, drive little interest in testing because you haven't created anything new or exciting for your customers and your engagement stats will bear that out - no matter how many testers you bring in. The best, most engaging tests are the ones that immediately have a waiting list of testers because you've generated new value for them or built something truly innovative. Focus your beta testing resources on those.

Sometimes checking "all" the boxes leaves the most important ones as glaring holes. Your ability to simply GSD without drama, confidently approaching your job, delivering like a badass, and not requiring any attention or spotlights. Imagine, going to work, executing, being relied upon and instilling confidence in your team just by bringing "it" every day. Somehow this is lost in 2024. Candidates aren't bringing "it" and companies aren't doing a good enough job of finding "it" ... yet "it" is how shit gets done. The inspiration you seek is on the bottom of this picture, not the top.

Unfortunately, true too many times. My biggest competitors are not other agencies....its the rolodex of my hiring managers. And, I get it. But, once you have exhausted your rolodex of superstars, what then? HOPE someone answers your linkedin job posting? Maybe pick up a referral? Here's a better way: let me construct a curated list of candidates, boil them down into a vetted list of verifiable performers, and then you evaluate and choose the individual that you feel is the best fit for your management style.
