The Russian Ministry of Health has declared that a cancer vaccine will be developed and made available to Russian patients at no cost beginning in early 2025. The news was recently announced on Russian radio by Andrey Kaprin, General Director of the Radiology Medical Research Center under the Ministry of Health, according to TASS, the state-owned Russian news agency. The vaccine is not meant to prevent cancer in the general population, but rather to treat cancer patients. Additionally, it will be tailored to each patient. TRIGGER WARNING!! Today alcohol has been normalised in every event, every organisation (networking= booze, celebration = booze), every alumni meet (it's so bad that in many alumni meets people don't show up if there is no alcohol!), most weddings, every college, and many international schools, like it is the right of passage and the only way to celebrate. Just 20 years ago this was not the case in India. Today parents are drinking with kids like it is the coolest thing a parent can do, instead of guiding kids to stay away from alcohol for the sake of their health, without morally judging them. Sadly today they are normalising it. Can I control what my own kids do? NO! It is their soul journey, I can merely lead by example and hope and pray to God that they will pick up my good habits and not my bad habits (I am not perfect, most human beings have good and bad qualities- I too am a mere mortal with my own set of flaws). Am I saying people who consume alcohol are bad? Am I making a moralistic judgement? NO WAY! Is alcohol good for your brain and health! NO WAY! Do I have perfect mental and physical health because I don't drink, smoke or do drugs? NO. Nothing is guaranteed in life but we can take actions to avoid known repurcussions. Should alcohol, with its known health issues be a part of every celebration including weddings? My Opinion - NO IT SHOULDN'T! I respect your opinion if it differs from mine, because I have closest friends who drink socially. Thankfully none of my friends are alcoholics- if they were I would still be their friend trying to help them instead of judging them. In my own organisation we have counselled two salesmen who were completely addicted to alcohol without sacking them but giving them tough love. Today one is completely clean and very productive. The other will hopefully stop soon and take care of his health, career and family. The Vibhuti? As a Dharmic thinker, writer and author- I LOVE IT! Two generations of Indians did everything to hide their culture, religion and Dharmic roots because they were/are ashamed of it (So Bindi Out, Vibhuti/Tilak/Naamam Out), aping the west whether it was good or not; but today by God's grace we have a young breed flaunting it proudly on the global stage and owning their Dharmic roots while dominating the world of Chess! The Vibhuti, Bindi, Naamam and Tilak aren't mere symbols - they are acupressure points that activate the prefrontal cortex of the brain. The Vibhuti also helps one stay rooted and humble because it tells us that no matter what we achieve, one day this physical body will be ASH!
