Announced this morning: $72 million funding program for SuperTruck Charge, which will enable the design, development, and demonstration of innovative electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in support of electrified medium- and heavy-duty vehicles (MHDVs). It also enhances grid resiliency and reliability. We are identifying potential solutions to address the current gaps in electrified MHDV charging infrastructure, enabling greater utilization of electrified fleets, and drastically reducing GHG emissions due to medium-/heavy-duty (MHD) trucks. The SuperTruck Charge funding program supplements the ongoing SuperTruck 3 program, with an emphasis on demonstrating technologies to accelerate the widespread buildout of the high-power charging infrastructure necessary for battery electric MHD trucks. https://lnkd.in/eQs4Ur5b

Re-posting for reach. Further research, development, and demonstration of high-capacity high-power charging installations with Vehicle Grid Integration (VGI) strategies for electrified MHDVs will be critical to meet these goals while ensuring equipment interoperability, mitigation of grid impacts, improving grid resiliency and reliability, and creating downward pressure on electricity rates.
