✨ ADHD Awareness Month! My personal ADHD Support System✨ Managing ADHD isn’t about finding one solution—it’s about discovering the right mix of tools and strategies that work for you. For me, it has changed over time and continues to changer depending on the season of life that i'm experiencing. I have spent many years deep diving into personal and professional development, which I found very beneficial, but for me today my daily strategies includes - Running - Affirmations and Visualisations - Meditation, and - Medication. Running helps clear my mind and manage stress, while meditation and mindset tools keep me grounded and focused. Medication plays a critical role too, giving me the clarity and focus I need to stay on top of my day-to-day responsibilities. In this video, I share my holistic approach to managing ADHD and how it has helped me thrive in both my personal and professional life. What’s your support system for managing ADHD? Let’s discuss in the comments, and don’t forget to sign up for my ADHD Awareness Month webinar on Tuesday October 15th for more tips and strategies. ADHD – What I have learnt? As we come to the end of ADHD awareness month, I thought it would be appropriate to share a little about my awareness of ADHD. Unless you have ADHD yourself or someone you are close to does, it can be hard to understand that it’s a mercurial condition which shows up differently for all. It ebbs and flows bringing wonderful highs and scary lows. Earlier this year, I qualified as an ADHD coach with the amazing Leanne Maskell at ADHD works. In my group of 16, I was one of only two ‘neurotypical’ delegates. As well as learning some fabulous tools to help ADHDers, I came away 1) knowing what it felt like to be the different one – I was conscious that my brain was working differently to most of the others in the room 2) filled with hope. The sessions were noisy, passionate, purposeful and quite brilliant. Spending time with a room full of ADHDers was quite something - our conversations we insightful, inspiring and different. The creativity was visceral. I am so lucky to have learnt about ADHD and now know so much more about how to help ADHDers navigate the ebbs and flows. I hope that understanding more about ADHD will help me to help others. What are you doing to learn about others this year? ADHD is a neurodivergent superpower that many of us possess, but it can also come with its fair share of challenges. That’s where I come in with Mindful Misfits ADHD coaching and consultation services. 💡 I offer tailored coaching and consultations designed specifically for those of us whose brains run on a different frequency. Whether it’s helping you organize your thoughts, manage your time, or figuring out how to make that “chaotic genius” energy work for you, I’ve got your back. 🙌 👉 In addition to coaching individuals, I also provide consultations to help therapists better understand how to work with their ADHD/neurodivergent clients. Together, we can improve strategies and approaches to ensure clients get the support they need. 💼 Neurodivergent brains are unique and creative, but with the right tools and strategies, they can also be incredibly productive! Let’s turn “I’ll start tomorrow” into “I crushed it today.” 💥 If you or someone you know could benefit from tailored ADHD coaching, or if you’re a therapist looking for insights to better serve your neurodivergent clients, please email me at [email protected]. 🌟 BECOME YOUR OWN ADHD COACH.... 🌟 What happens in an ADHD brain when we go to achieve a goal or bring an idea to life?? 'I'll start tomorrow ' 'I'll start when I have XX' 'I don't have time to do it' ' I can't be bothered' ' I don't know where to start' A quick way to reframe that ADHD Negative Bias? 🔻 TURN YOUR STATEMENT INTO A QUESTION 🔺 👉 What do I need to do today to make this happen tomorrow? 👉How can I step forward with imperfect action? 👉How do I make more time to do this task? 👉What will give me the motivation to complete my task? 👉Who can support me in breaking down the steps? This was one of the biggest take aways from my Monday Night Group Coaching session and here is why... 🧠 A STATEMENT ( which shuts down your brain) 🧠 A QUESTION ( which opens up your brain to possibilities) Curiosity is at the heart of ADHD coaching and makes coaching SO effective; there is so much POWER in a simple question. The Transformative Support of an ADHD Body Double For individuals with ADHD, staying focused and completing tasks can sometimes feel overwhelming. The concept of a "body double" offers an empathetic and practical solution to overcome these challenges. But what is an ADHD body double, and how can it help you achieve your goals? Let’s dive into the details. What Is an ADHD Body Double? An ADHD body double is someone who provides presence and support during tasks that may feel daunting or unmanageable. Their role isn’t to complete the task for you but to be there as a calming and motivating presence, helping you stay focused and accountable. How It Works 1. Shared Focus Having someone nearby, even virtually, can help channel your energy toward the task at hand. 2. Reduced Overwhelm Tasks can feel less intimidating when you know you’re not facing them alone. The presence of a body double helps break tasks into manageable steps. 3. Increased Accountability Knowing someone is there to support and encourage you creates a sense of responsibility and motivation to complete the task. Why Choose My ADHD Body Double Service? I provide empathetic, non-judgmental, and professional support tailored to your unique needs. Here’s what you can expect: Understanding Your Challenges: I take the time to understand your struggles and goals. Friendly and Focused Sessions: Whether it’s tackling paperwork, organizing your space, or completing an important project, I’m here to help. Virtual or In-Person Support: Flexible options to fit your lifestyle and preferences. Final Thoughts An ADHD body double isn’t just a service; it’s a partnership designed to help you thrive. By providing structure, empathy, and encouragement, I’ll help you turn procrastination into productivity. Ready to experience the difference a supportive presence can make?
