    Children

Children of Promise was developed to embrace children of incarcerated parents & empower them to break the cycle of intergenerational involvement in the criminal justice system.

As a member of team of volunteers, we facilitated the painting and rebuilding of critical learning areas in the educational center to provide a safe and functioning environment for the children.

    Disaster and Humanitarian Relief

As part of the Hurrican Katrina Disaster Relief Project, I participated in an Alternative Spring Break program where I spent a week in New Orleans with a number of other University teams in an effort to help rebuild and support those affected and displaced by the Hurrican Katrina. I personally spent my week between two homes rebuilding (rewiring, installing, repairing and painting) two homes within the 9th ward.
