Talking about website 🕸️ conversions. This comes up a lot when I'm on sales calls. I get asked well what do I need to do to improve my website to get people to convert? You have a form that says get demo. That's good enough right? 🙅‍♂️ Why not offer them something like a savings calculator or something where they can interact with. They can put in their data, try to figure out is the solution that you're offering me right for me. It's creating something sticky 🍯 on your website. It's keeping them there a little bit longer, and then maybe ask for their email address, and then you can nurture them a little bit. Your video content can only do two things: Create an emotional connection with your viewer. (Relational) Help them justify the buying decision they’ve made. (Transactional) Customers live in two spaces: Relational and Transactional. If you do not understand the difference in two, let's chat. Custom fields are where the details live. When you know something, or someone tells you something, their ActiveCampaign custom fields are the place to store that info 👍 But what's the point? I'm going to level with y'all here—there's one thing that drives me absolutely bonkers when I meet other digital agency owners. They always seem so polished and successful. But then, when I get home, I look them up online. More often than not, they have crappy-looking websites. If you're in the business of helping other businesses manage their online presence, then there's no excuse for your online presence to be anything other than a representation of your work product. Now, that doesn't mean you need to market your business at the same level as your clients'. But it does mean that you should care about how you show up online. And prospective clients should absolutely judge you based on your website and social profiles. There's a lot that goes into choosing the right website developer. I believe that a business owner's impressions of the developer's own site should be at the top of the priority list. Tell me why I'm wrong.

Every day, in a Facebook group or through hearing horror stories on calls, I hear business owners BLOWING MONEY on their marketing technology. It’s crazy what *some* freelance developers will do to drag people around. They’ll build on a different host without permission because it’s “what they know”, not what’s good for your website. They’ll build on a website platform they’re comfortable with, that won’t perform for your business. I see people spending over $20k a year on Alpine IQ when they could spend about $2,760 a year for the same capabilities on other, more performative technology. The most competitive business has to be companies/people offering SEO. I get at least a dozen messages every day from someone that can get me on page 1 of Google. If every business used these companies, then every business would be on page 1 of Google. For some reason, I do not think this is possible. Now because I wrote this, I will get a bunch of SEO companies/people telling me that they have the formula to make it happen. Everyone has the formula, but not one of them are on page 1 of Google.

We're wondering if a "why choose us" statement important website content? For example - we have a "Why Choose Us" on the Sterling Sky homepage (https://lnkd.in/gFQegTEW) that we HOPE is helping clients choose us as their internet marketing company. What factors compel a potential client to contact you?  ➡ Low barrier to contact?  ➡ What peers say about you?  ➡ How the website positions itself (thought leaders or experts?)  ➡ Something else? Is a "why choose us" statement more or less important than a client or peer testimonial?

My random PPC thought for the day is that ad management is going to keep getting more and more visual and much less text focused. This is something that Navah Hopkins talks about frequently and I think she's spot on! Standard search campaigns are still important, but look at the rest of the Google ecosystem. It continues to become more and more visually focused. PMax, Demand Gen, YouTube are all heavily focused on visual creative. Important campaign optimizations include product feeds and landing pages which include a heavy visual component. To continue to find success in PPC you're going to have to lean into and become comfortable working in an increasing visual and not text focused world.
