Wondering if TRICARE covers infertility treatments? The answer, unfortunately, isn't clear or straightforward. TRICARE MAY cover Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) services if you meet certain criteria related to a service-connected illness or injury. Here's what you need to know: TRICARE MAY cover infertility treatments if... 🔵 You're an active-duty service member (male or female). 🔵 You've suffered a serious or severe illness or injury (Category II or III) while on active duty. 🔵 Your illness or injury has led to infertility, making it impossible to procreate naturally without ART services. 🔵 You're the TRICARE-enrolled lawful spouse, unmarried partner, or a third-party gestational carrier of a qualifying service member (with certain conditions). The trouble is, there is a lot of red tape around proving these factors. For example, showing that a military-related injury absolutely leads to infertility can be extremely tedious and frustrating. This is why we're advocating for not just military family-building resources, but for complete policy change to clearly provide resources and care for those who need it as a result of serving their country. There is no such number.  Before deciding to wage war, the leadership will wargame the scenario, and calculate acceptable losses before either side loses the political will to fight.  Based on this, we can conclude whether the conflict is worth it.  Aside from calculating casualties, there is also the consideration of international relations, sanctions, trade, and investments.  In most developed countries, unless there is an airtight casus belli, no sane government is going to wage war.  The Americans are an exception to the rule due to their hegemony. Every conflict is unique, and has its own reasons and context.  The entire purpose of waging war is to gain some political and strategic advantage.  If the war effort is going well, the purpose is to maximise gains, and minimise losses.  There is no point winning a war, only to lose a strategic advantage to another party, or to create a situation that is untenable in the long run.  There is no victory in a pyrrhic victory, because you are too weak to take advantage of opportunities.  In effect, you are spending for someone else to gain. If the war effort is failing, the purpose of continuing the conflict is either to seek a strategic gain in a tactical defeat, minimising losses, or to create a stronger negotiating position in order to withdraw.  This is challenging.  A well-run government does not fight on needlessly, unless it is under existential threat. In such case, it fights until the ability to wage war is irrevocably broken, or until the opposing side is exhausted. It is possible to win the military conflict, but lose the political battle.  An example is the Vietnam War, or Resistance War against America, as the Vietnamese called it.  The American-led coalition won every set piece battle.  They lost the hearts and minds of the people.  More importantly, it lost support at home.  While the US suffered less than 60,000 dead out of a total deployment of more than 2.7 million military personnel, it lost the propaganda and media battle.  On the other hand, the North Vietnamese casualties, including the Viet Cong, were horrendous.  The political will to fight made those statistics redundant.
