Serve Colorado empowers community-based organizations to meet locally identified needs through service and volunteerism.
About us
Serve Colorado empowers community-based organizations to meet locally identified needs and statewide challenges through service and volunteerism. Housed in the Office of Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera, our work is guided by our collaboratively developed State Service Plan. The Commission guides our work in three distinct programs: AmeriCorps Colorado, the state agency of the national domestic service program, early literacy initiatives, and Days of Service to promote volunteerism. Along with these three programs, Serve Colorado hosts and participates in a number of events, including the Governor's Service Awards, trainings for AmeriCorps programs and members, various literacy events, and more.

In celebration of National Apprenticeship Week, Serve Colorado is excited to announce the launch of a new Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) in regenerative farm management, aimed at fostering the next generation of agricultural professionals in Colorado! Over the past 18 months, dedicated partners, including local experts and educational institutions, have come together to design a comprehensive training program that meets the evolving needs of the farming industry. Mountain Roots Food Project has been instrumental in designing the apprenticeship and will serve as the sponsor agency and AmeriCorps Program grantee. This program not only addresses the pressing need for sustainable farming practices but also provides a pathway for diverse communities to engage in the agricultural sector! Big moment last weekend! College Renaissance Corps launched our 2nd cohort of CRCorps Industry Ambassadors in #Houston and #Colorado! 46 #communitycollege students are serving as AmeriCorps members committed to working in and with their local communities to showcase the opportunities available at their #communitycolleges! We're thrilled to be continuing our work with Houston Community College, Arapahoe Community College, and Community College of Denver. AND we're very excited to have welcomed a new Colorado Community College System partner to the fold - Red Rocks Community College! Shot out to Gael Morales, Madan Khadka, Samuel Adebiyi, and Fatimat Lawal who have returned to #CRCorps for a second year of service in the new CRCorps Lead Ambassador role. Special shouts out to Abby Fleiss, Leah Porter Ed.M, Raven Cooper, and Alicia Lozano for leading up an incredible recruitment cycle, and creating a great 2-day orientation for members. I was really grateful to share space with these incredible students and leaders, discussing our collective vision for championing college opportunity to all. As our year progresses, we look forward to continuing our partnerships with Chantelle George, Ph.D. and Yoni Dobie-Geffen who are helping us go deeper into high school and community settings, and Vanessa Grover, M.S. who brings her knowledge helping us build thoughtful training modules to fully prepare our members for impact. This work wouldn't be happening without our funding partners - OneStar, Serve Colorado, Lumina Foundation, ECMC Foundation, the Beacon fund, and the Colorado Gives Foundation along with the support of Campus Compact, Bobbie Laur and Matt Farley. Stay tuned - big news by way of #Connecticut coming in the next week, and more updates via #Illinois and #NorthCarolina in the next month.
