📣 It’s National Apprenticeship Week (NAW)! This week employers, industry leaders, educators, and workforce organizations nationwide celebrated the impact of Registered Apprenticeship Programs. These programs play a huge role in strengthening our workforce by creating pathways to good jobs, fostering racial and gender equity, and building a more inclusive economy. Apprenticeships offer a win-win for businesses and individuals: ✅ Employers gain skilled, loyal workers. ✅ Workers earn while they learn and secure in-demand skills for sustainable careers. We were excited to take part in the conversation by attending and presenting at the Apprenticeship PA conference hosted by PENNSYLVANIA WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION . Together, we can continue supporting apprenticeship opportunities across the communities we serve. #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #WorkforceDevelopment #EarnWhileYouLearn Learn more about NAW here: https://bit.ly/2llkMPr

In honor of National Apprenticeship Week, we are celebrating individuals who empower apprentices to thrive. Meet Andi Toce, a Professor of Computer Science at LaGuardia Community College and a true advocate for #CUNYtalent. With a bachelor’s degree in social science from the University of Tirana in Albania, a master’s in computer science from Queens College, and a PhD from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, Andi Toce exemplifies the impact of lifelong learning and mentorship. As a proud #CUNYalum who began his journey at LaGuardia as both a student and tutor, Andi understands firsthand the transformative role the college plays in shaping students’ futures. He is deeply committed to advancing opportunities that help students excel in their careers. On why apprenticeships are essential he shared: “Apprenticeships are a great way for upward economic mobility for many students. They help bridge the gap between education and employment.” Many of our apprentice alumni have leveraged these resources to secure positions with some of New York's most prominent employers, including Bloomberg, Deloitte, TD, AIG, and more, while completing their studies at colleges like LaGuardia Community College, Borough of Manhattan Community College, Queensborough Community College of The City University of New York (CUNY), CUNY Bronx Community College, and City Tech, CUNY. Through strategic collaborations with The City University of New York, we have the ability to connect education and employment to ensure a students success.
