💯 Agree that any topic can be a calm conversation. It’s all about your approach, the “how” helps define the tone.
Being direct doesn’t mean being destructive - You can be honest without being harsh: Some conversations hit harder than others. But how you say things matters just as much as what you say. Here’s the difference: ✅ Clear, honest communication builds trust. ❌ Being blunt or careless damages relationships. When done right, speaking with clarity: Reduces misunderstandings Encourages open feedback Strengthens accountability Solves problems quickly Builds respect and trust But without empathy, directness: Erodes trust quickly Magnifies small issues Creates defensiveness Closes off conversations Misses the deeper context Understand before being understood. Be the voice that solves, not criticizes. Speak clearly, but never cruelly. Please repost to help others out there! ♻️ P.S. - Have you heard about my Content Boot Camp? Korn Ferry asks how can leaders respond to employees not thriving and feeling dissatisfied. 🤔One way to start is to have leaders talk to their teams. Having transparent conversations and working together to find potential solutions builds trust. Increased trust will pave the way to increased job satisfaction.
A new survey shows that 4 of 5 employees feel they are not thriving at work, and more than 50% are dissatisfied with their jobs and pay. How can leaders respond? https://krnfy.bz/4hwbOpV #employeesatisfaction #wellbeing #careers

🦥 ᴘᴀᴛɪᴇɴᴄᴇ. Ever waited in the African savanna, binoculars in hand, hoping for a glimpse of a giraffe, elephant, gerenuk, or dik-dik? That's the patience required for successful business decisions. Just like wildlife watching, rushing can lead to missed opportunities. Take your time, observe carefully, and trust the process. The rewards can be truly extraordinary. #patience #leadershipdevelopment #careercoach

🦅 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑯𝒊𝒅𝒅𝒆𝒏 𝑳𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑭𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝑩𝒆𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒐𝒓 I'm always amazed by the way flocks of birds can synchronize their movements to soar in perfect formations. That's the power of group learning! 🧠 Studies show that learning with others can boost retention, increase creativity, and spark new ideas. I'm so grateful to Safarini Leadership for bringing together American, European, and Samburu leaders for cross-cultural experiences so we can all soar together! During afternoon workshops, we shared insights, challenged assumptions, and reached new heights. It's a beautiful ecosystem when each person contributes something unique to the whole. 🌱 #GroupLearning #LeadershipDevelopment #ExecutiveCoach

🪘𝗔𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗼𝗺, 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 During a recent expedition with Safarini Leadership, I had the opportunity to meet Naumoni (na-MOO-nye). She is a member of the Council of Women in the Samburu tribe. Naumoni is known as a traditional birth attendant, what we in the West would call a Midwife. Naumoni did not receive formal education, she likely learned birthing skills from her mother or other female elders in her clan. Common in many cultures, trades are often passed down from one generation to the next. This knowledge transfer is crucial since the community relies on the preservation of those critical skills. It also evokes a sense of pride and belonging. In modern business, the concept of succession planning has evolved to address similar needs. Yes, the methods may differ, but the underlying goal remains the same: to ensure a smooth transition of leadership and knowledge to the next generation. How is your organization transferring knowledge to future leaders? What training and mentorship is in place to keep the organization strong? #culturalimpact #leadershipdevelopment #careercoach

𝘽𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙢𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙧𝙖𝙛𝙩 🔍 Meet Charlie, a 3rd generation Kenyan and specialty guide for Safarini Leadership. His deep knowledge of the landscape, plants and animals of the northern part of the country is unparalleled. Too often, people refrain from specialization in order to be viewed as "multifunctional". Let's shift our thinking on what being a specialist means. Specialists are sought out for their insights and ability to inform others. Charlie's expertise is valuable, not only to his clients, but for the conservation of Kenyan wildlife. What is your specialty? How are you optimizing it to position yourself as a problem-solver in your organization? #specialization #leadershipdevelopment #careercoach
