🪘𝗔𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗼𝗺, 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 During a recent expedition with Safarini Leadership, I had the opportunity to meet Naumoni (na-MOO-nye). She is a member of the Council of Women in the Samburu tribe. Naumoni is known as a traditional birth attendant, what we in the West would call a Midwife. Naumoni did not receive formal education, she likely learned birthing skills from her mother or other female elders in her clan. Common in many cultures, trades are often passed down from one generation to the next. This knowledge transfer is crucial since the community relies on the preservation of those critical skills. It also evokes a sense of pride and belonging. In modern business, the concept of succession planning has evolved to address similar needs. Yes, the methods may differ, but the underlying goal remains the same: to ensure a smooth transition of leadership and knowledge to the next generation. How is your organization transferring knowledge to future leaders? What training and mentorship is in place to keep the organization strong? #culturalimpact #leadershipdevelopment #careercoach
