Delivering 9,000 Surface devices for Kent County Council. Cantium has helped Kent County Council deliver 9,000 devices across KCC after they identified a need for new laptops. For cost-effectiveness, they chose Microsoft Surface devices that aligned with their hardware and technology, while increasing device performance. As part of the process, we identified some issues that would affect the user experience and developed remediations to ensure resolutions, including: - Over 300 bespoke applications required testing and development to ensure compatibility with Surface and Windows 11 - Devices did not have the correct certificate flows and architecture to authenticate on applications, wireless networks and the VPN. - Device hardware was out of date and managed by local administrators, meaning devices all had individual fixes applied with a 'break-fix' methodology. Carrying out the plan for distribution. The device ordering process seamlessly integrates with our IT Service Management tool, ServiceNow, offering users a self-service model to order and track devices from start to finish. Through our online portal, users can easily place orders, monitor delivery status, and handle any exceptions, such as failed delivery or damaged devices upon arrival. Having a self-guided approach keeps users engaged and informed throughout the transition. By gathering their feedback and identifying potential problem areas at every stage, we enhance the overall end-user experience. Are you prepared for the PSTN switch-off? OryxAlign, a London-based managed IT services provider, is urging UK manufacturers to prepare for the upcoming switch-off of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), which is transitioning to digital communication. Although the switch-off is due to be completed by the end of December 2025, it is being implemented gradually, affecting businesses at different times depending on their location.
