#Smart and #Efficient Garbage Cans in the #Netherlands The Netherlands is known for its innovative waste management systems, including smart garbage cans equipped with sensors to monitor fill levels. Many public bins also feature compartments for recycling, encouraging eco-friendly waste disposal. These efforts reflect the country's commitment to sustainability and clean public spaces. #Environmental #Environment #Garbage #Waste #WastManagement #EcoFriendly #ECO #Sustainability #Clean #Energy #Renewable #Recycling #Wasterecycling #recycling #Technology #Innovation #WasteTechnology #Europe #World #Climate
I don't think the cost savings of reduced staff outweigh the extra time each bin takes here. Overengineered.
Ali Shunnaq ◕‿◕ sure this is a great and more advantageous option for some applications. However, the fact that it requires a modified waste truck with a boom crane (now the space above it becomes a limitation), plus extra risks associated with it becomes a limiting factor as well. But yeah, in some places it does bring advantages over the traditional waste management methods
I think it is a technology that has proven effective in many countries.
Perfect example of over complicating something that doesn't need over complicated .
Now that’s genius!
Maybe a truck that loads multiple bins and takes it back to a base for disposal and leaves an empty bin would save time. (Load a bin, drop a bin) Then streamlined trucks can just be used for transporting the bins. Just an idea.

Not trying to bust any bubbles here, but these are super common, throughout Europe and the Middle East. Mostly where space is at a premium because most of the storage is underground.

1wI have used these in another country (need a card to operate and are specific to the waste management company). Often seen with ports for plastics/ metals and paper. Really good idea. Problem is that as with this video, people leave bags at the side for collection - usually if bi. Is full, forgotten card or someone who doesn’t pay for the use of the facility
