#Landfill #Waste #Trash #Sustainanbility #Environement #StateofConnecticut #Recycling #Tipfees #Accra #Nigeria #Ontario #Knust #Foodwaste #Diversion #Reduce #Zoomlion #DEEP #Diversion #Foodscrap #Behaviouralchange Trash is a cultural issue, reflecting societal values and behaviors. The "out of sight, out of mind" mindset exacerbates waste management problems. Like other states, Connecticut struggles with effective waste management and sustainability. To improve, Connecticut can: - Implement effective waste reduction and recycling programs - Educate residents on proper waste disposal and its environmental impact - Encourage businesses and industries to adopt sustainable practices - Develop infrastructure for efficient waste management - Enact policies promoting waste reduction and environmental stewardship By addressing waste management as a cultural issue, Connecticut can cultivate a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility, leading to a cleaner, healthier environment for its citizens.

Managing yard waste effectively is crucial for promoting sustainability and preserving our environment. The article highlights the role of three specialty dumpsters—green waste dumpsters, construction debris containers, and composting bins—in achieving this goal. These solutions not only support recycling and eco-friendly practices but also boost soil enrichment while cutting down on landfill contributions. In my own gardening adventures, investing in a composting bin transformed my yard waste into a valuable resource for enriching my soil. It’s not only cost-effective but deeply satisfying to see waste turn into something beneficial for the environment. 👉 So, which waste management practices do you incorporate? Are you exploring new ways to make your yard eco-friendly? ♻️ Share your thoughts or your favorite sustainable practices! #Sustainability #WasteManagement #YardWaste #Recycling #EcoFriendly https://lnkd.in/eVbDM4_d

We are continuing our clean-up work in the mangroves of St Cristobal, Bocas del Toro! The local community has no financial means or transport to take the waste to the city of Bocas for recycling, and unfortunately the city council of BDT does not help either. So they have no choice but to use the nearby mangroves as a rubbish dump. The Bocas Recycle Centre and One Earth - One Ocean have set themselves the goal of cleaning up the entire dumpsite and at the same time working with the local authorities on sustainable solutions. We are setting up a waste management system based on separating the waste of the entire community at source before it ends up in the mangroves and then transporting it to Bocas Town with the Bocas Recycle Centre. Our next cleanup with local fishermen from the same community will take place on Friday, 3 May. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or want to help. @BocasRecycle @oeoo.world @oneearthoneocean #CleanUp #CommunityEmpowerment #SustainableFuture #environmentalconsulting #sustainability #plasticfree #zerowaste #planetoverplastic #singleuseplastic #reducereuserecycle #singleuse #singleusesucks #choosetorefuse #plasticfreeforthesea #saynotoplastics #wastereduction #ethicalconsumer #livingsustainably #plasticoceans #plasticpollution #plasticpollutes #oceanpollution #microplastic

Happy Morning World "Waste Disposal Woes: A Call for Urban Mindset Shift" As someone championing #sustainabledevelopment, the theme for this week is sustainable development. We kickstart this by addressing human behaviors that pollute the #environment through waste disposal. It's essential to be #mindful of how we dispose of waste. A significant challenge within my housing area is people indiscriminately dumping rubbish anywhere they please, despite having waste disposal bins available. It's baffling - individuals park their cars across the road and toss whatever they please from the car, leaving it in parking lots, on the roadside, or wherever convenient. This happens daily, and despite community cleanup efforts, the problem persists, unfairly impacting those like me who are conscientious about waste disposal. Furthermore, many don't even securely tie up their rubbish in the bins, leading to it spilling onto the ground, attracting stray cats and insects. These pests often find their way into our urban farm, damaging our produce. It's a sobering reality for urban dwellers - highly educated, capable of affording large homes and cars, yet possessing a #mindset towards #waste disposal, smaller than a grain of rice. Some even dump their waste into my bin, and the garbage collectors aren't exempt from blame. They haphazardly throw rubbish into the truck, causing plastic bags to tear and spill food waste like fish and chicken remnants onto the road, attracting flies and insects. The most significant challenge lies in shifting the mindset of urbanites, including the highly educated, towards responsible waste disposal. What is your approach to waste disposal? Are you mindful of proper #wastemanagement practices? Or, do you find it easier to dispose of waste irresponsibly, potentially impacting others? #MyFiftyNineLife

Well done to the waste/recycling and circular economy professionals who continue to provide ongoing communication and advice about reducing waste and proper recycling. It’s easy to see that we are making solid albeit slow progress. Great work! Bad form to the people who leave their brains at home when they go on holiday and ignore messaging. Why? We are currently working with a few asset owners about messaging and creating systems. Proper infrastructure, good collection, and messaging does most of the work... but not all Happy to hear your thoughts 0431 222 327 #circulareconomy #waste #recycling #resourcerecovery #education #foodwaste #compost #environment #sustainability #plasticwaste #wastemanagement

Effective kitchen waste disposal goes beyond simply taking out the trash each evening. It requires a shift in mindset and lifestyle towards a more thoughtful and responsible approach to managing kitchen waste, aiming to minimize environmental impact. To achieve this, you should adopt new habits that focus on four key goals: - Reduce the amount of kitchen waste you produce. - Sort waste properly before it reaches the landfill. - Compost and recycle whenever possible. - Ensure trash is directed to the appropriate destination. Sustainable kitchen waste disposal practices yield the best results when the entire family is involved. Daily participation from everyone is essential to reducing your household’s overall waste and contributing to a cleaner environment. #mondaypost #kitchenwaste #waste #wastemanagement #effectivekitchenwaste #circulareconomy #reduce #recycle #leftovers #sustainability #cleanenvironment
