♻️💡 Did you know that the volume of e-waste is staggering? 💡♻️ Globally, between 20 and 50 million tons of e-waste are generated each year. In the United States alone, more than 5 million tons of electronic equipment are discarded annually, equating to approximately 74 pounds of e-waste per person. Unfortunately, only 15-20 percent of this e-waste is recycled, with the rest ending up in landfills or incinerators, further exacerbating environmental pollution. Let's change this! 🌱 By recycling your old electronics with Resource 1, you can help reduce the harmful impact of e-waste on our planet. #environmentalpollution #recycled #ewaste

Our discarded electronics aren't just a landfill problem. Improper e-waste disposal can have a hidden impact: water pollution! Here's why: - Leaking Toxins: E-waste often contains harmful materials like lead, mercury, and flame retardants. When these devices are dumped or burned, these toxins can leak into the soil and eventually contaminate nearby water sources. - Poisoning Our Water: Contaminated water is a danger to aquatic life and even humans who rely on it for drinking or recreation. - A Global Problem: This isn't just a developing country issue. Irresponsible e-waste practices anywhere can have far-reaching consequences. - We Can Do Better! Responsible e-waste recycling keeps these toxins out of our water. Research certified recyclers and dispose of electronics properly. Let's protect our water and our planet! - Find e-waste recycling options near you! Many electronics stores and municipalities offer drop-off locations. - Support companies committed to sustainable practices in their products and disposal. - Spread awareness! Talk to friends and family about the importance of responsible e-waste disposal. #EWCRA #StopEwastePollution #CleanWaterForAll #ProtectOurOceans #ResponsibleDisposal

#ClimateAction of the day: Tell TV News Channels to inform viewers about global electronic waste! The world's generation of electronic waste is rising five times faster than documented e-waste recycling. A record 62 million tons of e-waste was produced in 2022, an increase of 82% from 2010. It is estimated it could rise another 32% by 2030. In 2022, only about 22.3% of e-waste mass was properly collected and recycled. E-waste (any discarded product with a plug or battery) is a health and environmental hazard. It contains toxic additives or hazardous substances - one example is mercury, which can damage the human brain and coordination system. Urge news channels to inform public about this issue: https://lnkd.in/gTScKwKM? action_source_id=24778 #takeclimateaction #climateadvocacy

Less than a quarter of e-waste (22.3%) produced in 2022 was documented as collected and recycled, according to a recent United Nations report. The growth of e-waste has outpaced the growth of formal collection and recycling by a factor of almost five since 2010. Unfortunately, most e-waste ends up in landfills or informal recycling systems, posing high risks of pollution and harmful health impacts. Let's work towards more sustainable e-waste management practices to protect our environment and health. #EWaste #Recycling #Sustainability

E-waste is becoming a major threat to land pollution, contributing to environmental degradation and health hazards. While the theme for this year's World Environment Day "Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience," reminds us of our responsibility to protect and restore our land we at Beetel take immense pride in the fact that we've been doing our bit towards land restoration and e-waste led pollution through our sustainable e-waste management intervention. Recognizing the impact our operations can have on the environment, we’ve taken proactive steps to address this pressing issue. To combat the threat of e-waste, we’ve set up 95 e-waste drop points at all our regional offices, distribution centers, and service hubs. Through these drop points, we have been able to procure and successfully recycle 2800+ metric tonnes of e-waste. These e-waste drop points give consumers a convenient way to dispose of their electronic waste responsibly. We ensure that the collected e-waste is handled and recycled by authorized recyclers, reducing its environmental impact. #WorldEnvironmentDay #Beetel #EwasteManagement #Sustainability #LandRestoration
