Here's a snapshot of what stood out: 🔌 A Journey Through History Learning about ETSA (Electricity Trust of South Australia), which managed electricity generation, transmission, and distribution as a single entity from 1948 until its privatization in the late 1990s, was fascinating. The evolution of responsibilities into today’s framework—with SA Power Networks for distribution, ElectraNet Pty Ltd for transmission, and leading companies like AGL and Origin Energy—truly showcases the dynamic transformation of South Australia’s electricity industry. 💡 Key Takeaways from the Industry Experts Hearing Franco Crisci insights on energy storage and Ezio Marino emphasis on the challenges of cybersecurity as renewable energy integration increases added practical dimensions to these discussions. 🏗️ Key Players in Major Projects Discovering the ecosystem of major players in the industry was equally valuable. From Jacobs, GHD, and Aurecon engineering firms to system integrators and consultants like Fyfe Pty Ltd, and GPA Engineering, and technology providers like Siemens, Schneider Electric, and Rockwell Automation—it’s clear how collaboration drives innovation in this field. 💬 Gratitude and Growth The mentoring program, organized by the Electric Energy Society of Australia (EESA), through the University of Adelaide offers engineers a platform to connect with industry leaders, expand their knowledge, and enhance career opportunities. Participating in this initiative has been an eye-opener, providing not just technical insights but also invaluable networking opportunities.
