The Catalyst is our new ground breaking facility that is home to the UK’s National Innovation Centre for Ageing and the National Innovation Centre for Data. The building hosts a suite of bespoke facilities and a range of flexible office space. This will enable the creation of a tightly coupled and supportive ecosystem between the innovation centres and commercial organisations with a focus on either delivering new insights through data analytics or delivering new products and services which help us to age well, for longer. The city-centre location provides easy access to regional, national and international transport links. By providing world-class facilities and services under one roof, The Catalyst will act as a ‘beacon’ for both Ageing and Data related innovation. Tenants will benefit from co-location with the ongoing activities of the innovation centres and with like-minded organisations working in related domains. Together, these activities will deliver economic growth and enable the UK to become a global leader in innovation through ageing and data.

That's a wrap on The Catalyst Tour De Helix. Thank you to everyone who came down and supported us in raising money for BBC Children in Need. We cycled a total of 294km and have raised £200 as a centre, and £450 across the whole site so far. We cant wait to see how the rest of the Newcastle Helix do! Congratulations to James from NIHR Innovation Observatory for cycling the furthest at 41.3km, and UK National Innovation Centre for Ageing for being the most engaged team. It was also great to have some Oxford Innovation Space representation with us on the day. The raffle is still open for the rest of the week.
