Message discipline is usually seen to be the way to win elections. Say nothing but the same distinct message for weeks and you will cut through and persuade people. "Change", "Get Brexit Done", etc. Brands do the same - building the memorability of brand assets through continuous repetition. The Lib Dems are trying something else, this election. I follow politics (too) closely and honestly, I couldn't tell you what the Lib Dem message is. Instead they're going for the more "challenger brand" route of acting completely differently to everyone else. Keir Starmer is always in a tie, at a lectern. Ed Davey is - well, he's not doing that. It feels in marketing speak like a tone of voice play. Like what Surreal (cereal) or Oatly might plump for. Hey look at us! We're different! Therefore try us! The "therefore" bit is tricky - and one wonders how a party which is essentially half a century older than Labour and led by a knight who served in the coalition can reliably deliver on "different" - but I commend the effort, the doubling down on this unusual tactic, and look forward to finding out if it worked.

Ever wondered how did THAT influencer garner MILLIONS of followers and still no one really seems to know them or they seem to have a non-existing community or fan following? A recent study by Social Beat revealed that 67% of brands in India face challenges in verifying influencer authenticity and campaign impact. In India, the rise of fake accounts inflates metrics, making it hard for Marketing Heads to gauge genuine reach. Simple Solution: Use tools like HypeAuditor and Qoruz to vet influencers. But I will tell you HOW you can spot fake followers even without using all tools Here’s how to spot the red flags: 🚩 Unusual Follower Growth: Use tools like Social Blade to analyze follower growth patterns. A sudden, sharp increase often indicates purchased followers. 🚩 Extremely Low or Unexceptionally High Engagement Rates: Compare the influencer’s likes, comments, and shares to their follower count. An engagement rate below 1-3% for large accounts could be a red flag. Some influencers are getting overtly smart. They charge up click farms and garner an excessive amount of comments, shares and likes within hours of the content being posted. If the creator gets more than 5% engagement consistently on ALL their branded posts then it's a major red flag. 🚩 Generic Comments: Look for repetitive or irrelevant comments like "Great post!" "Love your look" or "You are so beautiful" These often come from bots. 🚩 Follower Quality: Check the profiles of their followers. Accounts with no profile pictures, posts, or followers of their own may be fake. 🚩 Inconsistent Content Quality: Genuine influencers maintain a consistent tone, aesthetic, and message. Accounts with sporadic or low-quality content might be suspect. 🚩 Engaged Community: Check if they have an active community specific to the platform - example how many people are present in their broadcast ? He launched with just 3 stores and quickly realized his model wasn’t sustainable. But instead of staying stuck, he made a bold pivot and it turned Manyavar into a household name across India. He followed a 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆-𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗱, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆-𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹. While profitable, it wasn’t scalable. Managing manufacturing, branding and store operations drained time, money and energy. He realized this model couldn’t take his business to new heights. That’s when he made two bold pivots: -𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴: Stores were owned by partners but operations stayed with Manyavar. -𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: He launched a franchise-owned, franchise-operated (FOFO) model. Franchisees ran their stores while Manyavar focused on its strengths: Manufacturing, Distribution and Building a premium brand. The outcome? A simple, scalable model that exploded Manyavar’s footprint across India turning it into a household name. Profitability is excellent, but scalability is where the magic occurs.
