Question
Are headphones needed for all students, or just text to speech students?
Are students able to opt out of the science assessment?
Are the same procedures in place from last year such as the test is not timed
but expected to take about an hour to complete?
Can you quickly review the status of last year's scores? Last I heard, districts
did not receive results. Is this incorrect?
do our students need headphones for the ISA test this year?
Do teachers read aloud the directions
Do you suggest classroom teachers be created as test admins? I wonder if
they won't even need them if the building principal has this access?
If a student took the assessment last year, but still does not have a full credit
in Biology, do they need to take the test again?
If a student took the test last year but is in the Bio class again this year, do
they need to complete the test again this year?
If HS students took Bio I last year and took ISA test last year and this year they
are taking an advanced Bio class should they show up on the ISA roster this
year and do they need to take the test again?

Is there a text-to-speech option based on a child's IEP.

Our school offers a Freshman Biology class as well as a Jr/Sr Adv Biology class.
Do we only test the freshman Biology or do we test both classes?

Question from my AP: do you have information about the length of the test?

Students need to take this all in one day?

Students taking DLM do NOT take ISA, correct?
The 95% participation rate applies to the ISA too, correct?
We have a 7th grader taking the DLM- did you say he needs to take the
science test on the DLM?
When is this test to be administered?
Will students need to use an external keyboard for the iPad version of ISA?
Also, did you say to search for safe exam browser to find the iPad app? I tried
that and couldn't find the app.

Are there any training videos that teachers can show to their students?

Are there practice tests available for this science assessment as there is for
ELA and Math PARCC?
Can we edit the names of existing classes and create new classes? For
example, the 5th & 8th grade students are in a genreal pool. We want to divide
them up into classes.
Can you provide the ISA URL site where can I review sites to be whitelisted for
the ISA test?
Do access code expire?
Do we need to update the safe exam browser or will it work from last years
install?
Do we need to use the column names in the file?
Do you still want us to document the error codes that a student receives
during testing? Likewise, will tech issues still be a valid reason that a student
did not test for ISA?

Does text to speech work on the Mac secure browser this year? (Last year it
only worked on the ChromeBook browser.)
Does the 2016 ISA ISBE Learn Client still work on Chromebooks?
How do we access the Rostering System?

How do we delete the default classes after we've put students in the correct
classes and they are empty?
How do you delete a student from testing - example: student has moved from
the district
I downloaded the Secure Exam browser for iPad to see what it is like. After
opening the app it takes you into single application mode. To get out of the
app an Unlock Code is required. What is the code??

If a student leaves our distrit without testing, should I remove them from the
class? Is there a way to completely remove the student from the system?
If we update EPS how long until it carries over to ISA

I'm confused. I thought you said that the students were uploaded by SIS
already. Are we required to use the WIZARD?

In SIS, I have enrolled a student in an alternative serving school, but he

showed up in my roster. How do I get him off my roster and on the roster for
the alternative school? The information is correct in SIS.

Is the Chrome app available on the webstore yet? If so, what do we search?

Is the SEB the same as last year? So if you already have it on chromebooks it
will work just the same this year?
Is the section name the Class?
Is there a need for a caching server? If so, where can info be found for that?
Is there an app for students to take the assessment on an ipad?
We are a special ed coop that administers all assessments to students
attending our programs. Last year I was not able to use the ISBE Management
Tool to roster students since we are not part of the home districts of the
students we service. Will I be able to roster students this year?
What do we need to do with students that are on our rosters but not in our
building (they are at a different serving school).
What if you have more than one role? PARCC, ISA, KIDS, Coordinator, etc? How
do document that on EPS?
What is the update schedule for SIS to ISBE teach?

what is the url for isbe teach or where do you find the portal to log on?
What question types are on the assessment? Is it just multiple choice or is
there written/extended response as well?
When will the application (ISBE Learn) be available?
will the link to ISBE teach be put on ISBE's website? I can never find the link
Can district admins adjust rosters and assign students print tickets?
Extended response questions last year had a n issue. If a student used all of
the characters, the system would not allow them to edit the response. Has this
been fixed for this years test?

If a student does not click the Yes button after the Submit Test and Exit button
- will it record that the student's test is submitted and completed?
If teachers have more than one grade can they be assigned to both grade
levels
in regards to printing testing tickets - how many tickets are printed to a page?
do we have multiple formatting options for student test ticket printing? thanks!
are our logins from last year still active or was an updated login sent to the
district Supt and we have to go through the process of setting up users again?
(sorry if I missed that part)

Can the superintendent add a district admin (not for one of our 7 buildings, but
the user above them)?
Can we use the same login credentials from last year in ISBE teach?

For the organizations in the new user file if I am creating a district user do I
need the RCDTS code for district and for all schools or just district?
How do we find out who received the email for our district?

How long does it take for a password request email to be sent after requested?
Apparently mine had expired so I requested a new one, and I still haven't
received it. Nothing in spam filter either. So, just curious how long it should
take, and what happens if I never receive it? I'm locked out.

How much later do I need to wait when I receive this error "Sorry, too many
failed login attempts from your IP address. This IP address is temporarily
blocked. Try again later "

I am assigned as the ISA contact in the EPS system, but I did get the email
with the user account info. I just checked my junk e-mail and it is not there
either. What should I do?
I am listed as the ISA cordinator in EPS but only have access to 3/6 schools
when I sign in to ISBE Teach. Can this be updated?
I am newish to this position and don't believe I am loaded as a District Admin.
Who should I contact?
I am not sure whether to make teachers Org Admins or not. We have one
location taking the test only. Would someone working with the student need to
be able to cancel a test immediately, or could they just ask me to do this at a
later date (after the testing day)?

I am the district assessment coordinator and held that position last year during
testing as well. Our superintendent has a login to ISBE Teach, but I do not.
Over the past few days, building principal logins "showed up" in the software
(according to our superintendent). Will my login be loaded? Or is the loading
of users from last year complete?

I did not get an email with ISBE Teach access. I am the district's ISA
coordinator. What do I do/who do I contact?
If I do not have a user account and had one last year, what changed?

If I should have a district level account can I ask my superintendent to create it

as I am not listed in the EPS system and I am not an administrator in any of the
schools in my district?

If the test science coordinator is having difficulties getting access through the
superintendent, can we contact someone at the state to get into the system?
if we set up an org administrator at one building can they administer the test?
Is it possible to change a user's role? I was uploaded as a school organizer, but
I should probably be updated to a district organizer. Would my principal be
able to update that through his account?

Is it possible to get more than one ISBE Teach login and password?
Is it recommended that out tech person have an account?
Is our superintendant the only one who can add users district wide?

Is the batch created at district level or school level?

What do I do if my account is not working? It will not allow me to reset my
password and I did not get an email to reset my password this school year.
What if you are a new Admin who should have access but can't get in?
Response
All because text to speech is open to all to use at any time.
No
Yes

Summer 2017.

Yes
They can, but not required.
Yes, to monitor progress during testing.

Yes, if they are in one of the four high school courses identified as Bio I.

Yes, if they did not have a full year biology credit at the start of the school year.

IF they did not have a full Bio I credit in one of the four identified courses at the start
of the school year, then they MUST test.

No. It is open to all students.

IF they did not have a full Bio I credit in one of the four identified courses at the start
of the school year, then they MUST test. Grade level does not impact the decision.

The webinar PDF shows the ISBE-Learn screens and can be used with students.

No. That had to be cut in order to get the other enhancements in place in such a short
time.

You can create new classes using the Import Wizard.

No, so keep them secure.

Update to the new versions.
Yes.
Yes. Thanks!

10.10 and above yes. 10.9 no.

No.
Log into ISBE-Teach and use the ISBE Management button below the tiles on the
dashboard screen.
You cannot delete the default classes. ISBE uses those classes in the automatic update
process.

Exit the student in SIS.

No. The system will do it automatically if needed. You just update SIS.

The two systems are not connected. Your current users must create new accounts in
ISA.
Yes, to verify counts. Also, you may want to customize your class assignments, but that
is not required. Many just use the large default classes.

The student will continue to show up in the import wizard, but shouldnt be in their list
of students. If he or she is showing up in their list of students, then they need to
update the test location in the rostering tool.

The Import Wizard (Rostering tool) is based on home school, so you must work with
them.
Check the test location field in the Import Wizard. Make sure it is accurate.

Enter your name for each program.

The two are linked automatically based on exits and enrollments in SIS. The systems
"talk" to each other.

Sent to org admins and test coordinators based on data in EPS.

Yes. Use the district RCDTS code in Column F.

No. We purged last year and added new based on EPS admin and test coordinator
data.
District RCDTS to make District level users.

EPS data will show the addresses that were used to create initial user accounts.

Minutes.

The blocker has been removed, so this should not be an issue.

Go to ISBE-Teach, enter your email address, request a password reset. If that doesn't
arrive, then check the data in EPS to make sure the address is correct. If all looks good,
then email Dan at [email protected].
A district level user can add buildings to your account via ISBE-Teach.

Superintendent's office.

In most cases, teachers are test admins if that is the only function they will do. A head
teacher may be an org admin if they are helping you set up for testing etc.

Data were loaded from EPS admin and test coordinator fields.

Superintendent's office.

The system was purged because the contract with the vendor was one year only.

Yes, the district account must be used to create other district users.

Not for an account. We can help the sup's office troubleshoot though.

Yes.
Yes, in ISBE Teach a district user will need to edit your account by removing all schools
and then adding the district while working in the same instance (do all the work at the
same time) then save.

Create new accounts with unique email addresses.

In most cases, that is a standard practice, but ultimately a district decision.
District level users are the only accounts that can create other district level users. The
superintendent/Director and district test coordinator (if you used that field in EPS).

Can be created at both.

Work with your superintendent or building principal to get an account.

If you are a superintendent, email [email protected], if not, talk to your

superintendent.
