S&P Global Commodity Insights estimates refinery naphtha yields will increase to over 14% by 2050 but will be insufficient to meet demand. Researchers say the direct oil to chemicals pathway (DOTC) must increase to 4.2 million barrels per day by 2050 to close the naphtha feedstock supply gap.
