Tips for 2018 I learnt from the world's best online marketers
I just got off a 2.5 hour marketing webinar with THE world’s best online marketers created by Stu McLaren. See https://marketingforecastlive.com/. 100% of proceeds go to a charity he is currently supporting, hurricane victims in Florida.
I got massive value from it and want to pay it forward for Stu by telling you guys about it and pay it forward to you by giving you my synopsis from the 8 leaders (plus Stu) that I listened to.
Stu McLaren - Tribe Workshop
- K.I.S.S. - as entrepreneurs you can’t do it all, keep your focus sharp by concentrating on one thing you can be the best in the world at. (this reminds me of hedgehog concept by Jim Collins)
- People learn different ways. Make your offer in various forms i.e. visual, audio and text.
- It’s not how quickly you produce content, it’s how quickly your audience can implement it. (I find this really important as an owner of a membership site, your audience have to be able to digest what you give them otherwise they don’t see value).
- Get great case studies. Share stories. (let other people tell your prospects how good you are).
Carrie Green - Female Entrepreneur Association
- It’s all about a mindset shift. It’s not about building a business it’s about building community (I wholeheartedly concur, if there’s one thing that’s changed my life, it’s my focus on self-awareness).
- Sell the experience.
- Step up to using video. (I’m completely excited and sometimes scared of video but it works!)
- Think bigger. Set the bar higher. (#backyourself)
Ryan Levesque - ASK Method
- Segment and give content according to where people are at (my experience is you can’t give people what you think they need, you have to give them what they want).
Kevin Rogers - Copy Chief
- Get vulnerable. (It’s the whole authenticity marketing tactic happening right now. It’s why people are attracted to small businesses and sceptical of big).
- “If they don’t feel it, they’re going to forget it”. (take a risk and show your real self, in corporate life this is trained out of you. It has taken me years to find myself again from being so corporately rigid).
Rachel Miller - One Crazy House
- Emphasised the importance of community. (ummmm… hello females in food ... you rock).
James Wedmore - Mind Your Business podcast
- Proactively work on yourself as well as your business. (again wholeheartedly agree, it’s about mindset that sets people apart, not their education or experience).
- What gets you in your zone of genius? (do what you love).
Amy Porterfield - Amy Porterfield.com
- In 2017 she went into full sales automation to sell her online course but missed her community so she is heading back to engage with community ‘live’ in 2018. (such value when you #leanin to a community and I’d say it’s good to know you’re not alone because this is a growing challenge for those on the entrepreneurial journey, there is so much time spent alone)
Jeff Walker
- You must be willing to experiment. (take risks but plan first would be my advice).
- Provide more bonus’ on the front end to increase conversions. (value, value, value rather than sell, sell, sell).
Russell Brunson - Click Funnels
- What’s gong to get your audience excited? (be realistic)
- Tell people the value they’re going to get. If you’re not excited by your offer, then your audience won’t be. (everyone puts their undies on one leg at a time just as you do).
- Don’t design for desktop, most people view on mobile now.
It was time worth spent. I am grateful for the honesty and authenticity in which these people market themselves. They're real about money, their tactics and their way of life. If there's one thing I continually heard on the call today and something I coach, and that is, the importance of self-care and training your mind to set you apart and set you up for success.
