📝 Marketing is Storytelling

I went to an event last week with a local networking group here in Palm Beach County and one of the speakers shared the importance of storytelling in marketing.

Yes, we all know this, but she actually drove the point home by waiting until after she told a story to ask us what we remembered.

It wasn’t really the educational content. Instead, it was the engaging parts of the house-hunting story.

Humans are hardwired to connect with stories.

Incorporating storytelling into your marketing writing can make your content more relatable, memorable, and impactful.

Next time you chat with a potential client or post something on social media, remember this.

📚 The Book Shelf

You know I’m a big reader, right?

Someone who blows me away with his non-fiction reads and reviews is Alex.

(I honestly don’t know his last name. I just refer to him as Alex & Books.)

He writes the most incredible tweets and I look forward to his newsletter every weekend.

🧠 Building Better Habits

Speaking of books, I’m wrapping up Atomic Habits by James Clear for the second time.

Here are some quick takeaways I’ve highlighted this time around.

You may read these and say, “Duh, Christina!” But sometimes, a reminder when you’re in a different season in your life is a good thing.

🔋 The Power of Small Habits

The accumulation of tiny habits over time can lead to remarkable transformations.

By breaking down larger goals into smaller, more manageable actions, individuals can create a positive feedback loop that reinforces their desired habits.

🏡 The Environment

Making small changes to our physical and social surroundings can significantly influence our behaviors.

By designing an environment that promotes positive habits and eliminates triggers for negative ones, we can make it easier to stick to our desired habits and break free from unproductive patterns.

💡 Habit Stacking and Implementation Intentions

Habit stacking involves linking new habits to existing ones.

By identifying specific cues and consistently pairing them with the desired behavior, individuals can create strong associations that make habit formation easier.

Implementation intentions, which involve specifying when, where, and how a habit will be performed, help overcome potential obstacles and increase the likelihood of following through on intentions.

That’s it for today, friend.

The next time I email you, it’ll be from New York City! If you have any recommendations on fun things to do there with kids, let me know 🗽

Christina

P.S. If you missed it on my last podcast episode, I shared five things on my NOT to-do list.

NOT to-do lists can be more efficient than to-do lists.
