🔔 The Call for Abstracts at #EHMA2025! How do we build health systems that are not only financially sound but also equitable and resilient? At #EHMA2025, we are seeking the brightest ideas and cutting-edge research to help answer this question. If your work explores the financial foundations of health systems and innovative strategies for sustainable care delivery, this is your chance to share your insights with leaders across Europe and beyond. Health is a fundamental right, and equitable access to high-quality care depends on financially sustainable health systems. At the European Health Management Conference, decision-makers, health managers, and care professionals will come together to exchange ideas and best practices on navigating the economic factors that shape our health systems. The conference will also explore how to design financing strategies that enhance access to care and ensure long-term sustainability. High-level conversations on health economics and finance are crucial, especially as we face the challenge of making health systems more resilient and financially secure. Optimising spending, investing in innovation, and adopting value-based decision-making can improve care delivery while ensuring efficient resource allocation. Health managers, responsible for the financial sustainability of health systems, are in a key position to lead these important discussions. ‘Finance and Economics’ is one of the five tracks shaping the programme of EHMA2025, reflecting current trends in healthcare. If your research focuses on healthcare spending drivers, resource allocation models, or any related topics in health system finance and economics, we encourage you to share your findings with a wide audience of experts, policy-makers, and healthcare professionals. 📥 Submit your abstract by Wednesday, 15 January 2025, 10:00 CET. Long time coming!! Just want share our recently published paper, titled "Development of a prioritisation framework to aid healthcare funding decision-making in health technology assessment (HTA) in Australia: application of multi-criteria decision analysis", in Value in Health! During my time at Griffith University, I had the privilege of collaborating with an exceptional team (Son Nghiem, Mel Miller, joshua byrnes and Paul Scuffham) for this research. Our study focused on developing an innovative prioritisation framework using Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) to enhance healthcare funding decisions in Australia. Key Highlights: MCDA Framework: We created a comprehensive framework that integrates multiple criteria and stakeholder preferences to guide health technology assessments. Stakeholder Preferences: Our findings reveal that Australian policymakers prioritise 'Patient-Level Health Outcomes' and 'Social and Ethical Values' over cost considerations. Practical Utility: This framework offers a transparent and cost-effective decision-aid tool, supporting informed healthcare funding decisions and resource allocation. A huge thank you to the Centre for Applied Health Economics (CAHE) and all the participants who contributed to our preference survey and pilot study. Your insights were invaluable in shaping this research. I am incredibly proud of this achievement and look forward to seeing how our work can influence healthcare policy and funding decisions in Australia and beyond. 📖 Read the full article here https://lnkd.in/eZcAuWEF #Healthcare #Research #MCDA #HTA #HealthcareFunding #GriffithUniversity #ValueInHealth #Collaboration #Innovation

🎥 We met with Prof. Americo Cicchetti, General Director of Programming at the Ministero della Salute, who highlighted the current and future challenges facing the healthcare system and shed light on the pivotal role of the #EDiHTA project as a driver of change. 🌐 Digital Health Technologies (#DHTs) have the potential to significantly improve the quality and delivery of healthcare services across Europe while ensuring the #sustainability of healthcare systems. However, their implementation presents new methodological challenges, especially in terms of standardising assessment criteria. 🤝 In this context, harmonising Health Technology Assessment (#HTA) methodologies at the European level is essential for #DHTs to fully demonstrate their added value and foster a more resilient and efficient #healthcare system. Wow!! I can't believe there is only 1 day to go to the start of the Imperial College "Leading Systemic Innovation in Healthcare" executive education programme! This features a week long intensive programme of lectures, panel sessions, roundtables, off site visits and social fun events hosted at Imperial's campus in London. This has been the best part of a year in the designing and making and I am really proud of the work we have done to pull together such a great set of speakers into a world first curriculum. One that addresses the urgent need to transition from our legacy, fragmented and overwhelmed national "#sickcare" systems into the holistic ecosystems we need to address the #health needs of the 21st century. As Programme Director I will be hosting the event and leading delegates through 5 days of intensive learning, debate and exploration as we explore what a more systemic future might look like, why it would be desirable and how we might collectively start to build this future. I will also be kicking off the Programme with delivering 2 sessions. The first entitled "The long-term future of healthcare in a technology-enabled 21st century" and will set out the bigger frame and possibilities for re-imagining health and healthcare in the 21st century. I will be covering a broad range of themes including: - the meta/ #polycrisis that is accelerating around the world and its growing impacts on #human and planetary health - the urgent need to redefine "healthcare" beyond sickness and to embrace a wider framing through the lens of human flourishing - an examination of the scientific, medical and technology breakthroughs that make a new paradigm of holistic health possible, desirable and achievable.... should we have the #vision and will to do so. My second presentation is entitled: "The fundamentals of product and service #innovation in health". In this I will focus on how to rethink #value creation in healthcare. Themes I will be covering include: - what does #valuecreation mean in a health context and what are the additional opportunities to be found in relational and generative value - how the "4 geographies of design" helps to frame the increasing levels of innovation complexity from simpler product design up to ecosystem design and whole societal transformation - how the "jobs to be done" framework can be adapted to understand the more complex needs and contexts present in healthcare - how the 3 Horizons framework can help organisations, ecosystems and institutions develop a shared understanding of their collective #future and the transitional, collaborative innovation pathway to get there I am thrilled to be given the chance to design, lead and present at this unique programme which feels so necessary and important at this moment in history.
