At #EHMA2025, we are looking for forward-thinking research that addresses the critical issues facing today’s health workforce and how we can prepare for tomorrow’s challenges. The healthcare workforce is the backbone of resilient health systems, yet it faces numerous challenges, from workforce shortages—particularly in rural areas—to increasing violence and harassment in the workplace. The mental health toll on healthcare workers is growing, as highlighted by the World Health Organization’s Bucharest Declaration. Health managers are central to addressing these challenges, from fostering collaboration and communication to investing in technology and innovation that improves working conditions. In addition to addressing current pressures, the future workforce must rapidly adapt to societal and digital transformations. Upskilling and reskilling will be crucial for health and care workers to keep pace with these changes and ensure the continued delivery of high-quality care.
