Joint Office of Energy & Transportation | MPA | EDF Climate Corps Fellow | Peace Corps Zambia

I have officially been with the Joint Office for one year! Coming right on the heels of the Joint Office's third birthday! 🎂 I am so thankful for the opportunity to work for this pioneering office within the Federal Government, the first of its kind. ⚡ I've had so many learning experiences over the past year and I am proud to be part of the Technical Assistance team. We have accomplished so much towards advancing transportation electrification over the last 12 months. Here is a snapshot of the work I've been doing for the past year: >Supporting NEVI deployment primarily for Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Puerto Rico as well as secondary support for the remaining Southeastern states. Over the past year these states have: >>Released RFPs & awards in Alabama, Georgia, Puerto Rico, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Tennessee resulting in plans for 101 NEVI stations, accounting for over 345 ports across the Southeast. >>Opened the first Southeastern NEVI station in Richmond, Kentucky. 🚘 🔌 >Worked on Fully Built Out (FBO) support - leading to the release of the 23 CFR 680 Fully Built Out checklist & Rhode Island becoming the first state to achieve FBO status. >Launch of the C3 Cohorts, including leading FOA Topic #1 (EV Charging Resiliency) and CFI Local Government projects. These cohorts will facilitate peer exchange and technical assistance over the duration of these projects. >I also had the pleasure of reviewing several funding applications for both the Joint Office FOAs and CFI projects. I am anxiously awaiting these award announcements coming soon! >Additionally, I've supported other Joint Office initiatives, research, and data analysis. I have learned a ton about government processes including RFIs, rulemaking, and guidance. >Finally, I was lucky enough to travel to numerous destinations throughout the year including: >>Connecting with Joint Office team members in Golden, CO and Boston, MA at our National Labs: NREL and Volpe Centers. >>Speaking at the Southeast Electric Transportation Regional Initiative in Atlanta, GA in June - and connecting to many movers and shakers in the transportation electrification world in the Southeast. >>Facilitating a valuable peer exchange between Hawai'i DOT and Puerto Rico's PRHTA in Oahu, HI and visiting Hawai'i's first NEVI station on Maui. >>Connecting with State DOTs and Energy Offices on NEVI deployment at the NASEO-AASHTO-JTO Annual EV Charging Infrastructure National Conference in Detroit, MI in September. >I'm looking forward to more trips in the coming year including my first stop in Washington D.C. at my first TRB in January! I'm excited to continue this great forward progress in the year to come and connecting to so many talented professionals working to build an affordable, convenient, equitable, reliable, and safe electrified transportation future. #jointoffice #workanniversary #transportationelectrification
