  • Feature Presentation at Infraday East - December 11 - NYC - www.infraday.com/east - "Delivering renewable energy to NYC on the Champlain Hudson Power Express" - New York City’s energy transition will be foundationally supported by the delivery of hydropower from Quebec via the Champlain Hudson Power Express- the longest buried transmission line project in the United States currently under construction and slated to be in-service in May of 2026. The 339-mile transmission line terminating in Astoria Queens will provide 20% of NYC’s annual energy needs, displace climate emissions equivalent to removing 44% of cars from the City’s roads and significantly help to reduce local air pollution prevalent in environmental justice communities located in proximity to fossil fuel power generation. Over the course of its construction, CHPE will create 1,400 union jobs. In addition, the project’s $40 million Green Economy Fund will support workforce training to individuals living in disadvantaged communities. This will be presented by: Peter Rose, Senior Director, Hydro Québec Energy Services #renewablenergy #energytransition
